Okay, I just spent the past 45 minutes opening my cards. (I was waiting until I'd written y'all's notes to let myself enjoy them!)
You guys. I laughed. I cried. I enjoyed some gorgeous cards, quotes, notes, and everything in between. And the glitter. That was more than I had even imagined. My cat was enthralled by it too. (So much so that he walked through my pile and tried to eat it!) And when I was done, I tried out those awesome 3D glasses and what do you know - they worked the best when I was looking at those piles of glitter!
(BSR and TS, the card was fabulous too!)
I don't know what it was, perhaps the handwriting, or the notes, but seeing those cards made each of you more real. The internet makes us anonymous, but those cards put real people behind those names in a tangible, powerful way for me.
Thank you SO very much to each of you that took the time and wrote and mailed those cards. And of course to Santa and the elves that collected them, sorted them and mailed them out.
I have had an incredibly hard two weeks. (And a pretty crappy past 6 months and cruddy past 2.5 years while we are counting!) I'm physically and emotionally worn out. And you all just gave me the best 45 minutes I've had in a VERY long time.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Thank you all so much for the cards and messages! This is the 2nd year that I have been part of the card exchange and I'm already looking forward to next year.
Between losing my Dad in November, my DD's December 7th wedding, (which I did wear my sparkly cowboy boots to) and my baby boy leaving home to move all the way into our bunkhouse with his fiance, my mind has been all over the place.
I really needed the card exchange this year, with all the sparkles and glitter. All of you are so wonderful and I appreciate every single one of you.
Saying thank you to the elves that make the card exchange possible, just doesn't seem enough. You guys are Rock Elves and I would promise to go easy on the glitter for next year but that's not going to happen. Lol. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I would also like to say a big thank you to the elves!
I received my cards while my husband was traveling for work and I had some other drama going on. To go to the mailbox and receive the cards, glitter and other little prizes turned my day around.
Thanks again and Merry Christmas to all!

One more lone SI Christmas card arrived today. It has been long enough since the others arrived that I opened it thinking it was from someone not a part of this. It was from Hutch and I'm glad it didn't contain glitter, (especially exploding glitter!!) because I was unprepared if it had!
So thank you, Hutch!

I have my entire stack of cards waiting to be opened. I just haven't had the chance yet. I also have the clear ornament that I'll be saving all the glitter in.
I got one lone card yesterday and its heavy and full. I shook it to show wh that it's so full and he said it rained down glitter lmao. That's why I taped all my cards lmao. To keep in as much ad I could for the journey.
My.kitchen floor is all glittery and I love it!!!

I am definitely doing this next year. Reading all your posts about how happy the cards have made you has been great on its own, I can only imagine what the real thing has done for you all.
Happy Christmas SI family. Many of you have supported me massively in the last 6 months.
Bring on next Christmas in my new house with all your cards and the enjoyment of writing and posting out 😁 xx

Chili singing: "I got a card today - I got a card today!" How cool a surprise is that? Made me smile so on a dreary Winter day.
The exchange that keeps on giving. Love it.
