Thank you, Crushed and TCD.

I promise not to be embarrassing at the g2g with my knife skills.

While wondering through Shoprite yesterday, I thought, "I wonder if TCD is here?".

I'm the same way. My dd had several health issues as a baby, too. I also am weird about pictures, after her health scares, I started taking a million pics... Poor dd won't even look at a camera now, I have to bribe her to talk pics or get an action shot!

It really stretched my resolve to let the kids go with their dad when we were separated, but that was court ordered. Lol, nothing I could do!! It actually was good for me in 'letting go', I think it helped me see the kids would go somewhere w/o me and be OK.

you are not the only one.

(I'm letting my kid get on a plane to another continent in 17 days. Pass the xanax!)

Last summer I let my then 14 year old go on a European band trip with about 200 other students from the state. It was a 7 country tour. The Ambassadors of Music.

She was well supervised but I still had anxiety. I tried calling once while in Paris but I spent 10 minutes talking to the hotel staff trying to connect to her room because I didn't know the room number. I left a message and she did call back with a message that she was having a blast. The time change made it difficult and they were on the go all the time. I had given her a Visa card through AAA so I stalked errr tracked her whereabouts through it when she bought souvenirs. She posted a few pictures on FB when she could.

She talks about that trip all the time and the fun and new friends she made. She's my oldest and I was so overprotective of her but I put my trust in her and it went well.

I don't know if it gets easier or we develop better coping mechanisms or maybe trust in them to be the kids we brought them up to be.

AN youngest DD (18) hasn't driven on the highway yet. She leaves for college in 5 weeks . I think I need to get her on the highway. College is 3 hours away.... Most of it highway!

All my kids have to call me Sunday evening or risk mommy calling the college, job, boyfriend, best friend ,etc. They have been told and shone that I WILL be relentless! It only took one of them NOT calling for the rest to figure it out

I trust you is a better compliment than I love you, because you may not trust the person you love, but you can always love the person you trust. - UnknownRelationships are like sharing a book, it doesn't work if you're not on the same page.

Gotta - Thank you.

Momma, I love that you tracked your DD via visa card.

Kajem, I like the idea of having them call each week.

I'm giving her the tools she needs to go out in the world.

It the horrific things that we can't protect them from because killers, etc... are just out there. I'll keep breathing in, breathing out, and moving forward.

Thank you, everyone.

That was great, Jo,, hard to do! My kiddo has serious health issues and it was realllllly hard for me to let him do an overnight (just one night!) camp when he was 10, but so glad I did. It was good for my kid to be able to do it, and it will be good for yours, too.

It kind of gets easier. Unfortunately, there's always some new hurdle! Guess that's what being a parent is about!
