You most likely won't have too much out of pocket to deal with after surgery. The home care, the rehab stay that is all covered under the same event, and most insurers will tack that onto that event. If you do have to pay out of pocket it would just be for therapy.

Yah not having any vaca would suck, but being able to work and walk without pain and fear, would be a pretty good trade off.

So yesterday I started asking questions at work about who to talk to to get more detailed information about the STD plan we can buy through the employer.

I get the answer from HR- well... they changed brokers (yet again) and are reviewing their offerings as far as STD, LTD, health insurance, etc. Our renewal deadline is Nov 1st for a December 1st effective date for health insurance, so it could (and if history is any indication probably will) change before then...

I suppose that might be a good thing or it might be a bad thing for me... but who knows. No sense in even looking into it further until I know what insurances are going to be offered.

So once again, this goes on the back burner until I know something more.

Of course it just occurs to me that if I planned for the END of 2014 into 2015- it could potentially change AGAIN before that...

How am I supposed to plan something this complicated when the target keeps moving?!?!
