Yay for Tim's! Thanks for sharing it with us south of the "Centre of the Whole Freaking Universe."

And I miss Swiss Chalet. Call it whatever you want; many think it's gross, but I loved their chicken sandwiches and fries.

Hmm... might need to do another summer road trip up North!

LMAO

That first picture is fairly poignant for me. My dh is interviewing for a job in BC very soon. So I've been looking at real estate non-stop. That "All the people that could afford to move from Ontario" part. Yeah.. apparently I am not one of those people

I originally come from where people talk REAL funny, but I moved to the centre of the universe, so everything's all A-OK! Might have to share that map on FB!

....just for you, tryingagain74

H and I go at least twice a month -- nearest restaurant is 40 minutes east/west of us. We usually go on a Tuesday; take advantage of Seniors' Day shopping at our favourite store, Value Village!

...anyway, back to the pics: Only in Canada...

Thanks, lookingforward! The last night our local Swiss Chalet was open, the place was absolutely mobbed, and my sibs and I didn't bother because the wait was probably for hours. I don't know why they closed up shop in my neck of the US; they had plenty of fans!

Mmm... dipping sauce...

Yeah, especially today!

Yesterday we had a high 5C (that's 40F).

Today, the temp has plummeted to -16C and feelinglike -22C. At least I got to bring in the outdoor Christmas decorations before they entered the permafrost of winter.

We haven't been too happy with Harvey's lately.....thin meat and buns taste like cardboard. I've never had poutine....the idea of cheese and gravy on fries ???

Its a bit cool today (-22C) so that makes it a perfect day to go ice fishing and no, for you southern people, that does not mean getting some ice cubes from the fridge!

I've never had poutine

You'd better correct that quickly, because they'll kick you out of the country for that

Funny.. my dad and brothers are ice fishing up at the family cottage today .

This is the first winter we've had the place, hence the first ice fishing trip. Personally I can't imagine anything more unpleasant or scary (really, we are putting huts on the ice, cutting holes in and sitting there? Really? We're DRIVING across it?!) but I wasn't invited so my opinion doesn't really matter . My mom and sisters and I are firmly in the "We'll be back when we can boat over to the island" camp. No need to get all silly and cold.

I agree, that's slightly insane behaviour. People, we invented houses for a reason....

Meta, I absolutely agree!

Our cottage is on an island and it's a three-season cottage. Omitting season 4 (winter) for that very reason! Driving across ice? Walking on ice? No way in hell!!!!
