My SO, at the age of 62 decided to let his hair grow. He is a veteran and spent 34 years in law enforcement - had a crew cut from the time he was 17.

Well he just let it go and go and as it got longer, it got thinner. He rides a motorcycle, so we had to put it in a ponytail that would fit under his helmet. It was a mess, but he loved it. Then he cut it all off and gave the hair to Locks for Love. Now he has a short hair cut, but not buzz. It's very attractive.

I think the buzz cut screams military and makes you look older. If you are enjoying the length but don't know what to do with it, go to a salon, get a good cut and some styling products.

Most of all, do what pleases you!

Yah I have a bike too, or had, without for now.

But I can tell ya that's another reason for going smooth. No tangles and no issues with having to take time to fix it.

The guys in my band (and the wives), don't like the idea of me cutting my hair off though.

Well unless they are fixing it it doesn't really matte what they want.

You wear each length well. If you want to keep the length, I think some long layers around the face would freshen it up a bit. And if you didn't like it, the short cut would still be an option. If you want to chop it all off, go for it. But maybe not as close as the buzz cut.

But what I REALLY want to know? Is why NO ONE has mentioned that you met Patti Freaking LaBelle????

Saw the title and got a little spooked. Thank God you're talking about the hair!

As a long, long-time supporter of our military, thank you very much for your service!

I have to agree with not getting a short cut; go to a salon and get some shape to it (and I'm FAR from the age of the others saying this!!)

My thoughts EXACTLY, but I was afraid to post that!

I think a medium length is good- not too short, not too long. About the length in your favorite pic.

I like the short hair.

You actually look a bit edgier. For a band this is a good look and the mid length is very 90's.

Go short and rock it!

Is the f*cking you're getting, worth the f*cking you're getting?

Yea, Patti Labelle kissed me, actually. That was pretty awesome. I was on a Christmas reality show back in 07. That's how I met her.

Oh, and I think that with my hair down it looks better if I'm clean shaven, but with it up I like the fumanchu. Also it annoys the WSO when I'm clean shaven, is it wrong that I find some satisfaction in that?

Hubba Hubba. There are some nice looking men in this thread

I'm with the short-ish crowd. Not crew, a little longer with some layers, but the bummer is you may have to use a bit of styling product. Which is good for you since I don't own a straightening iron or have time for one either.

ETA: I like 5 o'clock shawdowy over clean shaven.

ETA2: I totally missed that was Patti LaBelle! Awesome!!

I'd suggest adding some shaggy layers which would give you an updated look without losing length. That style with a beard is becoming really popular.

Check out pictures of Ashton Kutcher. He wears some great looking mid-length cuts with shaggy layers.
