Looks like a fabulous trip, Moo! Great photos. Thanks for sharing.
I have my photo in front of General Sherman, too.

The China pics mostly look overcast. Was it just cloudy or the smog we hear about? How many were on the trip? Do you know when you will go back?

Just curious: in China, does all the merchandise say "Made in America"?

Love the pics! Snow can be really beautiful... in pics!
Where in China were you? About 10 years ago H spent a lot of time in China building a new plant for his company. He loved it, I really had no interest in going and hanging out by myself over there.
Sounds like an SI G2G in the works - Disney Hong Kong!

I think it was a combination of haze and pollution. I was in Guangzhou which is in southern China near Hong Kong. The temps were in the low 90s for my trip. I could not read the Chinese characters to determine if things were made in American but I am doubting it.
It looks like I'll have to return to china late this year for another two to three week stint. So maybe we can have a Disneyland Hong Kong g2g. It is a small world after all so there should be no excuses for folks not to come. If you're not big on flying (I had a 15 hour flight non stop Chicago to Hong Kong) there is always the slow boat to china.

The pics of your California trek remind me of an adventure I took my (at the time) 10 year old sister on. We went to many of the same places...even saw Zoltar!

..Great tour..of both sides of the world!
..the pic of the hamburger and fries was 'exciting'...
but where are the pics of the 'exotic' chinese dishes you enjoyed..
..the secret to packing light is to wear your favorite, lucky underwear.. for the entire trip..
..saves loads of room for stuff you want to buy!!!
..glad you're back, safe and sound.

California has lots of beautiful places, but don't be too envious. The trip to China was work related and I only had 2 days off in the nearly 3 weeks I was there. Long days of work too.

I am confused about your "luggage". I do not understand how you managed a trip to China carrying only what looks like would fit in my purse. My brain hurts.
Hong Kong Disneyland g2g??? Aww, hells yeah! Maybe we can get a group rate!
Lucky you, Moo. San Francisco is my fav US city. I go every summer. And then on to China! Did you get to fly first class and have your seat turn into one of those bed-thingys?
Thanks for sharing these pics!
Eta: I didn't mean the above to sound like I'm "On to China!" every summer! I was just exclaiming about Moo going!

Nope my company quit flying us business class years ago so we fly coach and try to upgrade to the coach plus seats with a little extra leg room.
Luggage? Well when you go from plane to subway to train to car to hotel you have to travel light and rely on the laundry services that the hotel provides.
