So I ended up in urgent care yesterday because the chest pain got so bad.

They checked me out completely. It is an injured rib due to a bad massage. That is when the pain started, and I remember when it happened.

It was a good thing to find out it wasn't my heart. Thank you guys for all of the concern and advice.

Happy to hear you got it checked.

I hope the pain improves quickly. Nothing worse than that constant back, chest discomfort.

Wow!!! Glad to hear you're ok.

TBH though,

a bad massage

I don't think a referral is warranted.

Nothing worse than that constant back, chest discomfort.

You aren't joking! It has been non-stop since it happened. The only thing that really helps are ice packs.

I felt it as it happened but thought it was just a really sore chest muscle. I even told her that there was really sharp pain there as she did it.

Needless to say I won't be going there again.

You do need to call them and let them know what happened. It has since cost you a trip to the Dr and Urgent Care. If they have someone who is doing things beyond their scope of practice, or hurting people more than one time they need to be aware.

^^ What tushnurse said.

That person could BREAK someone's rib next time.

I'm glad it wasn't related to your meds, and so glad you weren't having a heart attack!!!

The urgent care doc said it was like I had a broken rib. She basically popped out the cartilage joint that attaches the rib to the sternum. He said it would feel like I had a broken rib.

So speaking of that, this pain does not get any better unless I have ice on my back at all times. I cannot get a good breath in. Is that normal for this kind of thing?

Oh my gosh that sounds so painful, I'm sorry. I hope someone here has an answer because I don't. You're due for some good luck, I think you should buy a lottery ticket.
