If anyone wants to know how to find the GFM page PM me too and I can tell you how to find it as well. You can see this beautiful young lady that Nightowl brought into this world too. We need to help keep her here.

Thank you all so much for the prayers and thoughts. It's been a very long couple of days.
Surgery went well. The preliminary pathology report says low-grade ganglioglioma. She had a follow up MRI that was a nightmare lasting 2+ hours with her crying but remaining completely still while I just wanted to scream at all of them to stop. But I didn't. Because we really don't have a lot of good choices here.
The fantastic news is there is no sign of residual tumor on the follow up MRI. This puts her overall prognosis in the 85-90% ten year survival range. For someone with a brain tumor, this is really about as good as it gets. It certainly is as good as it gets for the location and characteristics of her tumor.
I'm sure I will eventually figure out how to "live" with the fact that my 10 year old daughter has a 10-15% chance of dying before she finishes college. I'm not there yet. But I'll get there because I don't have any other choice. And so many other parents don't get the gift of those odds... their odds are much, much worse. I'm a work in progress in this area.
Anyhow, post-op has been going really well except for pain management. She's doing great from about 15-20 min after pain meds until they start to wear off. The time between doses is *slightly* increasing but not nearly enough to be off of them altogether. They're saying she will go home with Motrin and Tylenol only, and we are just a very long way off from that.
Specific prayers for her pain to be under control and lessen to the point we can use the Tylenol/Motrin combo only would be appreciated. I could also use specific prayers to continue being brave and strong, even when I'm getting very little sleep and just continue to try to wrap my mind around what all of this actually means.

You have got our prayers, nightowl. You ARE strong, courageous, beautiful, and amazing!!! Hang in there. I wish you peace, hope, and a good night's sleep! Your fears for your DD are understandable, but she is in great hands and her odds really are VERY good. Try to focus on that and use it
to pull you through the difficult times. I'm so sorry for DD's pain. Lots of prayers coming for her. Stay strong. You are her rock and her comfort. God bless you both.

Oh nightowl, sending you soft, warm hugs, to help you sleep. Bravery and strength will come. In my experience, the Tylenol/Motrin combo works much better than pain meds. Praying for comfort soon, for all of you

(((nightowl & DD))) It's going to be a long journey... and the first step is good news. Remember one day at a time.....
Prayers and all good thoughts are being sent.
I so admire your strength and courage.
Wishing you a good night's sleep and a pain free day tomorrow for your DD.
