MPF I am the same way and have also read most of Dan Brown's book.

Deception Point was really good. But IMHO not as good as A&D or DVC.

Started it night before last and finished it about two hours ago. I agree with the B grade. I could put it down and not obsess over getting back to it.

There were formulaic points, and then other scenes where you could tell he was really revving up for something... and then it hung and he went back to formula. My overall impression is that he had barebones story and got rushed to finish. Given another year, perhaps, this could have been as heart-stoppingly wonderful as Angels & Demons.
