okay, just talked to Uni.
Her daughter is still alive.
She is going septic however. There is an infection. Yesterday her blood pressure was very, very low. She has lost her arm. Her pelvis is completely crushed and she will need a colon - something or other I cannot spell. They have to make her colon work, She has had so far 47 units of antibiotics and they think she may still be bleeding internally and are going to try to work on her again this afternoon when it is not too dangerous to do so. Very Touch and go just trying to keep her alive.
on the good side, they think her spine/brain function has not been affected. She was awake for a short period yesterday and trying to talk and was blinking and trying to communicate with Uni.
they're keeping her sedated now.
Uni says she feels the prayer and it is all that is keeping her afloat. She says thank you (through tears).
I'll check back with her tonight.
For those of you who don't know her as well, she has such a mom's heart. She is of Hispanic descent and has all of the cultural passion that goes with it. She is one of the warmest women I know and feels deeply, though she rarely complains or speaks about her own heart, only lifts up others. Offers information to help. Even now, asking how she is, how she is holding up, she deflects it, speaking only of her daughter. And of her husband, who was in the hospital last week. She worries he isn't holding up well.

Let's pray that no news is good news. That she's still alive and they are by her bedside unable to use their phones.
Very worried for the whole family and praying for them.

Thank you Maia...
After my mom died, Uni sent me the most beautiful card to the donation box and had written a very heartfelt note inside...she was the only member from here that did that for me...I will always treasure her words.
