I was just reading about them. I saw the dates of of divorce and remarriage and I thought "wow, that's pretty damn close together for happenstance". I grew more suspicious when I read this quote from Amy Grant:
"I didn't get a divorce because I had a great marriage and then along came Vince Gill. Gary and I had a rocky road from day one. I think what was so hard—and this is (what) one of our counselors said—sometimes an innocent party can come into a situation, and they're like a big spotlight. What they do is reveal, by comparison, the painful dynamics that are already in existence."
Sound like typical justifying thinking.
So then I google and find out that they at they very least had a EA two years prior to Gill's divorce.
What bothers me is that both of them have had squeaky clean images and one of them profits off of that image. There hasn't been much remorse publicly displayed and a great deal of public justification. I'm not one who usually takes such personal offense to celebrity behavior (sometimes you can't even get away from it) but hypocrisy truly drives me crazy.

It disgusts me when celebrities have affairs because so many people follow their lives. And if they like the actor/singer/whatever, they may start thinking, "Well, it's not so bad. After all, I've always liked Vince Gill/Amy Grant/Jesse James/insert other cheater's name here.
All infidelity is ghastly, destructive, painful. People being hypocritical about it makes me really irritated too.

Add to the fact that Amy Grant is a christian artist who still to this day played on christian radio stations, everything is glossed over, the fact that they both had an emotional affair divorced their spouses and married each other, when she is interviewed on Star99.1 I have to turn it off.

AARP magazine featured them both on the cover a few months back along with a real slick article written by an old Nashville celebrity worshiper. The article made me sick the way it attempted to spin their obvious A into a "soul mate" love story. Celebs like Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt may have the $ to do lots of PR damage control but the truth is ugly and show clearly through their hypocrisy. It is especially easy to see by those of us who have earned our wisdom the hard way.

Speaking of Angelina Jolie, I just roll my eyes when I'm in line at the grocery store and another article is talking about how she's flying to all Brad's sets, chasing off his co-stars he flirts with. I guess she knows what he does when he's on his own....

So which is it? Did she have a great marriage or was her marriage rocky from the start?
This is exactly the kind of illogical thinking that people who have affairs seem to specialize in.

I used to have so much respect for Amy Grant...that stopped when I heard about her affair with Vince Gill and that was years before my own run in with the nightmare of adultery! Now I can't even stomach the thought of the two of them and every time I see a picture of AJ and BP I just want to punch her in the face and kick him right in the balls. The karma bus will get them all eventually!

Yeah, I love the way the appearance of an AP can reveal the painful parts of a marriage that were amazingly invisible before (that is, before the re-writing of marital history starts happening).

I had actually read that a few Christian stations stopped playing AG music when she got D and was with VG and the FANS called in demanding they play her music again. Ugghh.
Sadly I think the whole Brad Pitt/AJ is going to work out. They always look so fing happy together and I have seen a lot of OW/MM A's last.

See, now this is why I don't trust therapy.
It should be obvious that you don't end up fucking the innocent person. The only painful dynamics revealed are the shallow selfishness of the cheater.

I haven't liked Garth Brooks since he threw out his long suffering wife who supported him in his rise to fame and took up with someone else. Makes me angry every time I think about it. And that was before things happened with my family. Now I will be adding Amy Grant to the list of folks to boycott.
Unfortunately, he is not your mate right now. he has been replaced by a pod person.

Did you ever hear the duet Garth and Trisha did a few years before they both divorced their spouses? Go to YouTube and look up "Anothers Eyes", when I saw them perform it on t.v together when it first came out it was so OBVIOUS there was something going on and the irony is the song/duet is about an affair.

Trish and Garth been at least having an EA for YEARS!!! YEARS....
Same for Amy and Vince...
I wish they would just be honest - it makes them seem even more smarmy and skunky when they try the gloss over it method.
