Day 8 of summer break. The native is restless and already rebelling against the "read for one hour a day" rule. She keeps referring to it as a half hour (wishful thinking that I correct each time), mutters "You're killing me, Smalls" under her breath every day when I tell her it's reading time, and has been reminded several times that singing Mackelmore's "Thrift Shop" does not count as reading.
74 more days until school starts.

Using pallets/skids to build the goat pen seemed like a good idea...but becoming a "goat herder" proves it wasn't... 
on the upside two goats will go along way to removing the need to ever cut the grass again...or plant flowers, or a garden...

Learned today that "ba ba ba ba baaaa" is goat for "wait for us" by two goats who insisted on getting the mail with me. Animals are so much better than people sometimes...
