Is this whole *poof* thing some kind of inside joke?

Do you post a pic for a certain amount of time and then *poof* it? Or does it just not appear?

Kinda confused...huh. Nothing new about that. It is tons of fun to put some faces to the names. Thanks to all of you brave souls.

That's exactly it. Just like a magic trick, *POOF*, and it disappears.

Some people don't want to leave their pic up for too long where they can be identified. Especially true for those who have developed investigative skills and are thinking that from the pic we can find the link to their photobucket account, leading to email and facebook to home address and phone number and criminal records and tax returns and...

Never been anywhere close to blonde tho - strange how we build up ideas of what people might look like

Awww! Thanks guys

Bangs are going away. I dont have a current pic because they are in the god awful state of growing out.

So y'all like the dark better huh? It's weird as I was naturally blonde untill I got pregnant. With the second pregnancy it got even darker

The only bad thing about the dark is sometimes it kinda drowns me out (without makeup) and my eyebrows are still light so I have to darken them up. I think that is why without makeup it can kinda look weird but I was going through old pics and was kinda thinking the dark looked better to.

This is me and my step sister and the only other dark haired pic I can put on the comp. I think I'm gonna have to talk to my stylist.

Jewel--another vote for dark.

Ok Aesir--you're playing with me right?

from the pic we can find the link to their photobucket account, leading to email and facebook to home address and phone number and criminal records and tax returns and

I have read in here that your location can be traced through info imbedded in the pic. I guess I'm a true picture techno-idiot--I've always assumed a pic was just a pic. Never realized it could be mined for info.

Does it really link back to photobucket and then your email? I'm not so dumb to fall for the whole 'tax return' stuff. (nice try, tho). I am just really kinda stunned that personal info can be pulled from a photo on the web. Huh. Is this also true for the pictures that people post on Facebook? If so, that's really creepy. Now, I'm scared of the Web.

Yes and no.

cellphone pics may contain GPS data embedded in the picture, as well as the time it was taken, but you have to have the GPS turned on. I always have mine turned off to save power, unless I need my phone to know where I am.

The photobucket link is embedded in the source code for the web page. Some people have photo bucket linked to their regular email.

Based on this a determined person might be able to find you on facebook. A really motivated person with some investigative skills and accounts with the right info databases, who knows what they could find.

You would have to have really pissed someone off with your posting for them to go through that much effort.

Your mileage may vary... in accordance with the prophecy.
