Currently sat on the laptop applying for a job in Australia!

Wow - that would be quite the adventure!

Indeed it would NIK

Doubtful ill get it, although I emailed the GM of engineering for the company, who I knew many many years ago, albeit not particularly well. He knows who I am at the very least. He's read my email but not responded..

It's one of the biggest companies in Australia and the position is based in Canberra...

I'm excited at the thought. Looking in Canada and New Zealand as well. Although I'll probably chicken out and stay in the UK! LOL

Finally finished tidying the house ready for the estate agent to arrive. It's not finished here but he wants to come and measure up and start preparing the description so that when I am finished he can put it straight on the market as all the leg work will be done.

Just signed a contract with the agent for a healthy figure which if I get asking price should result in a £25k - £30k profit...!

Realistic to know offers will be lower than this but it gives me scope to negotiate and still cover the mortgage and arrears for the payments I've not covered this year!

Lets hope any profit stays in my pocket and doesn't go to stbxWW

So I've actually had two neighbors who were renting but wanting to buy in the neighborhood knock on my door and ask to look at the house today. The place is a disaster area but I let them in to look. I'm pretty confident that this is one of the nicest townhouses in the complex with all of the upgrades that STBX and I did. I have a feeling that if the price is right (the bank has to approve the short sale), the house won't be on the market for long. I put the second coat on the roof today (so glad that's over with) and I have a few odds and ends to take care of over the weekend.

Wow - finally listed! Good for you, forever.

And h0peless - wonderful that you are already getting interest! That bodes well, doesn't it?

I have a showing scheduled for tomorrow. The other interested parties are all focusing in getting their properties on market. To be expected, as my place is not a starter home, but rather a "moving up" home.

Fingers crossed for all.

Well... after an ice storm cancelled my first open house, and the substitute agent who manned the second open house forgot to turn off my gas fireplace (which I discovered 5 days later ), I had two showing scheduled for last weekend. One of those potential buyers suffered what they thought might be a heart attack on route to my house. They went to the hospital instead and have apparently recovered, thankfully.

So we're scheduling another open house for this weekend. Cue the plague of locusts.

My realtor gave me an update on Sunday's open house - 7 different groups came through, with two of those groups repeating from the last open house. Lots of positive feedback.

One couple was head over heels, but the house is out of their price range. I always scratch my head over that - why waste your time looking at something you clearly won't be able to buy?

Anyway, still positive, and yet still no offers. *deep sigh*

So here are a few pics I've been taking of work I'm doing outside.

The garage roof is a mess. The metal sheeting has surface rust and the plastic panels are age fatigued and broken...... The fence has had it and weeds/new trees have taken there toll, especially over theist year and a half where the house has stood empty.....

This is what it started like...

A better shot of the mess behind the fence

Everything cleared, the bank Levelled down to below the two block height (there's an original retaining wall below that) and the rotten roof timber removed ready for replacement.

Today I replaced the timber with the help of my dad ad we picked up new plastic panels for the roof and I ordered some paint to renovate the metal sheeting.

It won't be prefect but should look a million times better than it was before!

Dear Home Buying People,

BUY MY FRICKING HOUSE ALREADY!!!!

I mean - come ON! It's beautiful! Spacious! Filled with light! And it's priced really well. I mean - REALLY well.

And the neighborhood? It kicks other neighborhoods ASSES! Also, I have fabulous color sense, so the wall paint will go with EVERYTHING you've got. Trust me - it's a magical adaptive neutral. I tried to find things that clash with it, and there's nothing. Got a fuschia couch? No problem. Everything periwinkle? It'll go. Skulls and crossbones? They'll pop above the fireplace.

Seriously. Help a sister out.

Please????
