I love how so many great things are going on in our lives!

1. I have been feeling super unmotivated lately (work is sapping much of my energy) but actually went grocery shopping today so I have lots of food in the house.

2. Rec dept yoga starts tomorrow, which means I have three classes a week through the fall. Yoga always makes me feel so good but I tend to slack when I don't have classes to go to. This should help.

3. I canceled all of my plans for today since I need to recharge. I have the rest of the evening for a book, some painting, and a beer or two.

1. dmari is now posting in NB (bumping this for you! and so happy when people whose stories I've followed from the beginning make such huge personal growth accomplishments!)

2. Figuring out how to solve my clogged bathroom sink problem without (hopefully) having to call in professional help. Making good progress so far -- need to make sure it's a permanent fix.

3. My parrot, who flew into a candle earlier this month and therefore stained herself pink AND smelled like mulled cider, is about 95% back to normal. I knew I shouldn't light candles around her, but decided -- unwisely -- to risk it. So happy no serious damage was done!

Selfish 3 things, need to be a little selfish right now...

1. Playing music with my friend and getting better all the time.

2. Having a party at my house last night with homemade sausage, if anyone read my weekend post the other day, lol!

3. My son, my wonderful son, that teaches me normal cleaned my whole house while I was at work so I wouldn't have to before my party.

Just typing this makes me smile.

1. Got an amazing performance review at work today -- we discuss it on Monday but I am really excited!

2. I joined a gym! I hadn't needed to for over a decade since I just run outside year-round, but as I get older, I have conceded defeat to winter. Today was my first day and I got a good, speedy treadmill run in, and I snuck away from work for lunch yoga. Plus, I may have made a new friend there. Let's see what Day 2 brings!

3. I have amazing friends -- something I couldn't have said three years ago. From people I've never met in real life to people I do things with several times a month (or week!) I'm starting to really believe that connections are what make life worth living.

The little things -

1. DS and his friends installing my new car battery while I slept last night.

2. Apple strudel pie for breakfast.

3. A quiet morning spent reading SI with a sleepy, purring cat on my lap.

3. I don't *have* to do anything this weekend. First weekend in a very long time

Having a great night with a friend this week and another planned next week;

1. Had my first personal training session today. (I get two free sessions with my gym membership.) I may have to schedule time with him several times a year.

2. Performance review in person was amazing.

3. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so I don't have to work. Although I am spending the day with extended family, so I might prefer working

2) I donated $100 to Heart and Stroke in my Dad's memory, which made me think about him and thus feel warm and fuzzy.

3) I have almost all my Christmas shopping done and maybe 80% of it wrapped, so I'm chuffed that I'm organized and can now concentrate on feeding the hordes that will descend on me over the holidays (16 for Christmas Eve dinner, 12 between Dec. 20 and Dec. 28, (a different) 12 between Dec,. 30 and Jan 1.

1. It's Friday!!! And I left work a few hours early to make a couple of appetizers for tonight's book club, so I had two extra hours of weekend!

2. Next week is Kenyan Independence Day, and one of my closest friends is from Kenya. I'm helping to host a party at their house next weekend -- just picked up two cases of Tusker beer tonight.

3. My contractor has been installing my storm windows, which should help me conserve energy this winter and stay warmer. I wasn't sure they'd get them on prior to winter. And how did the previous owner live here for 48 years without storm windows?

1. I won my age group in a race yesterday, which always makes my day, especially since this is nowhere near my best distance, so it was a surprise.

2. I have such an amazing group of friends. Sometimes I can't even believe how lucky I am.

3. I'm making decent progress with the piano. It's really hard for me, but I am determined to become proficient. The parrots sing along (out of tune) while I play, which makes it even more fun.

2. I think I have found a good match for a running partner. Believe it or not I am working towards a 10k.

3. I am thankful for my parents who helped me with my kids while I ran last night while I ran after work.

1. I woke up with "Love is a Battlefield" by Pat Benatar stuck in my head. I didn't know it at the time, but its impossible to have a bad day with that song playing on repeat. Totally awesome.

2. My niece turned five months old last week and she is the best. She loves reading books (actually, trying to eat them, but that's pretty much the same thing) and laughing even though my jokes are horrible.

3. My face smells like dog slobber. I may be a long-term bus passenger, but both of my dogs are great kissers.
