I truly think this Alison expert has done more harm to the defense than good. She just claimed that a text message from Travis "showed" his jealously .. oh I guess she forgot about Jodi slashing the tires of Travis and his gf at the time or crawling thru the doggie door and all the other crazy boiler bunny stuff she did.

I'm not sure if any of you BS know this but when you demand to read the whole text from your spouses or bf/gf phone from an opposite sex that your being controlling and abusive.
Your waywards they were right

I don't know. I think this afternoon the witness did a half-decent job of maligning Travis with his own e-mailed words. I suspect, however, that Juan has access to other parts of those e-mail conversations that will show Travis reacting to some craziness of Jodi's.

I haven't been able to watch all of the trial, but I thought all this stuff hadn't been allowed in.

Could he have been abusive? Emotionally yeah I can see where he wasn't the best of boyfriends with the text messages, emails and voice messages which she has to back up her claims.
No where is there any proof except from Jodi who has lied to the police so many times. Jodi has claimed that he tackled and threw her to the ground and the finger incident which she never went to the hospital nor wore a splint because one has come forward saying yeah Jodi was walking around with a broken finger.
To me everything that Alison claims as abusive could also be said of Jodi.

Wilma: *smirk* I'm going to go ahead and get this out of the way. Do you have any memory problems?
Shrinking Violet: No I do not.
Wilma: Do you have feelings for Jodi that will somehow hinder or bias your testimony here today?
Shrinking Violet: No I do not.
*Wilma and Arias smirk and simper. Arias juts her chin out and smirks at Bulldog Martinez.*
Gah aren't they so cute!? I just love the general respect and civility in this case.

It's this kind of nonsense that will give Jodi grounds for crying "incompetent counsel" on appeal. The simpering and smirking make them appear as though they think this whole thing is a joke.
Yeah. Super funny, that nearly-decapitated man with 29 stab wounds to his back and bullet in his face.
Assholes.
I think it likely that Travis was immature. Sometimes, perhaps, a jerk.
But if Jodi's what I think she is, those text tirades? They were in response to specific behaviors from her that pushed him over the edge.

It's making me crazy how they are flipping this whole thing around.
Of COURSE he was calling her names and saying she was a psycho and saying she was the WORST thing that ever happened to him, a three hole wonder and all of that. That's what happens when you repeatedly try and DUMP someone and they won't go away. He was young and probably completely unfamiliar with psychopaths. I'm sure he didn't know about the NC rule.
My NPDXH tried to say that I was abusive too.
WTF ever.

He did call her a psychopath in on of his texts or whatever they were.
Funny how Alison the expert knew all the answers but not being on cross doesn't remember much kind of Jodi.
Not a great comeback asking the prosecutor if he is angry at you, playing the victim not a smart move.

And the courtroom erupted in laughter.
I wanna know what Juror #5 is up by coming back and sitting in the courtroom and smiling when Jodi turned around and looked at her.
I smell trouble coming.

Juror #5 should not be in there. I agree trouble is brewing.
How many times have they gone for a mistrial 2 that I know of I think its not gonna look good in the long run.

If the prosecution is smart, he will ask the judge to bar Juror #5 from the courtroom; her presence is just too fraught with potential problems vis-a-vis mistrial, appeal, etc.
(I would not be at all surprised to learn, tomorrow morning, that the defense has again moved for mistrial, based on her presence.)
ETA: It's VERY common in cases like this for there to be many, many moves for mistrial. It's just...done. It doesn't really portend much--it's just part of the dance.

Oh, wow! Mr Martinez is ammmaaazzziiinng.... my favorite Jm quotes: "yes or no! Yes or no! Did I ask you [fill in the blank]"... also, I have thought for a while just watching Laviolette that she is the type to play armchair psychology on a whim. I imagine her husband getting annoyed with her and her response being "I feel threatened and uncomfortable when you talk to me in that tone".
I loved, loved, LOOOVVEED when Juan shut that shit down real quick. "Does it make a difference if the prosecutor is angry at you?" And then when he was forced to rephrase and came back with "Does you opinion change when you perceive a negative emotion from the person asking you questions" or something to that effect. But after he turned that around on her we didn't get anymore armchair pop psychology.
Adjourned until Monday blows. :(
I hope that $300/hour was worth it to her to slander a murder victim's name. I think her career is sinking.
And when it comes to Travis.... He could have treated Jodi really bad... from my impression they were no more than FWB with her getting strongly attached... but is that an excuse for him to be murdered? And does him viewing her as nothing more than a booty call/psycho bitch make him abusive and her the victim.
Speaking of which I was downright PISSED when she said Jodi was the victim and Travis the perpetrator.

Shrinking Violet cannot be winning any points by the way she keeps looking over at the defense before she answers either.
What's that all about? Like she's looking at them for a hint or something on how to answer.
I sooooo love Juan Martinez. He is my hero.

I sooooo love Juan Martinez. He is my hero
Isn't he just fantastic? I once again fell asleep watching Wilma question ALV this afternoon & then all of a sudden WHAM, here's Juan!! Instant energy!
I was surprised I nodded off listening to ALV & Wilma today considering how pissed off I was getting listening to them giggling, tearing Travis' words apart (incorrectly IMHO) & all their other courtroom antics. It was disgusting
I kept thinking "it can't get worse, it can't get worse", then ALV says "I believe Travis is the perpetrator & Jodi is the victim" & "Yes I believe Jodi was a victim of domestic violence; both emotionally & physically". That's the precise reason I couldn't sit in that court room. Shit like that would be spewed & I'd be climbing over the railing, screaming & reaching for Jodi's neck.
This juror # 5 issue is also starting to greatly concern me. She released a statement yesterday that basically said she respected the sanctity of the court room & it's rules, that the proceedings were more important than her answering questions and yet...she shows up in the middle of court today?? Makes no sense at all! It's her right of course, anyone can do so & she's been released from any juror responsibility, has no gag order, etc. but if she wants the attention OFF her, going to sit in the gallery was going to achieve the exact opposite of that! The defense team is already throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks, they don't need any other reasons! Ugh.
Juan was magnificent today, downright BRILLIANT! Even though I thought it was wrong for spectators to burst out laughing during the whole "Are you angry at me?" thing irritated me, I did laugh at home
I continued to laugh at the Snow White exchange; you know a trial is a complete circus when the Prosecutor is talking about fairy tales & 7 dwarves! LMAO! ALV was lying through her teeth (no surprise there) during that entire line of questioning too. She said that seminar was NOT about Snow White, that it was just a catchy name but I watched that seminar on YouTube a few weeks ago & IT IS about Snow White being a battered woman. Bleah!!!
I cannot wait for Monday, Juan is already on fire (as usual) & I'm sure he has more in store for us!

Not really. This afternoon gave Martinez a taste of how obnoxious Shrinking Violet's going to be. He has 3 days to regroup and prepare for the drama llama.
I felt that her defensiveness and the whole "Are you angry at me?" bit kind of threw him off kilter. He seemed to lose his cool a little bit.
Love that she could quote scads of crap from texts, emails, and IMs but couldn't identify ANY feelings that Jodi was feeling and wanted notes for reference. Noticed she looked like a cornered cat with her eyes constantly darting to the Defense Table. So professional.
Yeah....Snow White...it's ruined for me. As is PopRocks and Tootsie Pops.

I just now walked into the kitchen where my fiance was standing by the stove. He turned to me and said "pizza?" My response was knee jerk: "Are you angry at me, Mr A.?"
He gave me the most confused look.
I felt that her defensiveness and the whole "Are you angry at me?" bit kind of threw him off kilter. He seemed to lose his cool a little bit.
Now, I DO think that Juan managed to get the upper hand with that. I think it was one of those things that he was caught off guard and quickly caught himself and worked it in his favor. He was not about to have her turn it around on him and I loved when he was asking "What difference does it make if I am angry at you? Does that somehow change your opinion?" I am sure ALV is thinking that Juan is being abusive to her. :eye:
My favorite part is when JM said: "Do you want to spar with me?"
EDIT: I think the thing with Juror 5 is just simply that she still wants to be a part of it. I am sure that she is aware of what a media sensation this is... and lets face it: this is an EXCITING case. She still wants to be a part of that excitement. Although her presence is a distraction... I am also slightly disappointed by her hair style. They said it was unique and noticeable in the news, I thought it was typical suburban mom. I was imagining a girl with rainbow colored mohawk.
