DD had this beautiful heart ring from her bf. She was doing some event at her school this weekend that I guess was messy and she put the ring down so it wouldn't get ruined and forgot about it.

She realized later that night and went back to the site the next day to look for it and it wasn't there.

She went to the student union today to ask if anybody found it and sure enough, somebody did and turned it in!

She got her ring back!

DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

That renews my faith in humanity.

I once found a very pretty ring in a nonprofit needlework shop. They also sold locally made gifts, and the ring was next to a sample container of hand lotion. I took the ring up to the counter, saying where I had found it; obviously, someone took it off to try the lotion.

The (very nice seeming) lady behind the counter said, "What a pretty ring. I'm going to keep it!" I was shocked I should have told her, "Nevermind; I'll put an ad in the paper." (Long before the interwebs...)

You are important and you matter. Your feelings matter. Your voice matters. Your story matters. Your life matters. Always.

I would have been caught off guard, too. If I was good at thinking on the spot I would have grabbed the ring back from that woman you encountered, SadinAz!

Yes, I have to say I am not surprised. I hear so many people saying how we are in trouble because of the young people, but I have faith. I see a lot of good happening .
