I would push for an MRI, not a CT of your beaner. Memory issues can stem from lots of stuff from tiny strokes to vitamin deficiencies.

A good neurologist can diagnose it. It sounds like a cognition issue, and a Speech Therapy evaluation is in order. ST's do much more work with cognition than most realize. They can give you tricks, and help your brain rewire how it calls up Nouns.

ADHD is not a huge deal, and would you rather have a label that is not a big deal or be considered an airhead or an idiot because you can't recall things. Meds do not have to be a permanent thing either. Sometimes we have to slow our minds enough to develop good coping strategies and then you can get off of the meds.

Many adults that are successful, creative, and very effective have ADHD. Not a big deal (trust me this is from a former ritalin kid). Yes I have adult ADHD, no I do not take meds, and yes sometimes I totally forget things like appointments, and paying a bill, but does it does not effect my life overall.

I tend to get a lot more done in a shorter time than many of my cohorts at work, and that has always been the case. I do make lists, reminder notes etc. Sometimes I forget where I put them... but overall not a big deal.

Do you have any other physical complaints/symptoms other than the memory loss?

not really...every whip stitch i will get this jabbing pain right behind my eye (one or the other never both at the same time) but I just figured that since I work on a computer all.day.long, that I was just getting eye tired. I would just close my eyes, take a break, and they would go away.

I dont ever have pain or anything weird when its actually happening.

I agree totally with TushNurse about having an MRI rather than a CT scan. I formerly had a brain tumor which did not even show up on the CT scan, but was clearly identified by an MRI. It is so much more effective for neurological issues. Good luck with your diagnosis and treatment!

Be careful what you wish for the most - you may get it.
