We've decided to do a recommitment ceremony for our 25th next year. Here's what I have so far. Can you let me know what you think?
I stand here today to reaffirm my marriage vows. So many years ago, when we were young, we stood in a church and said words that were written for us. Words I'm pretty sure we didn't understand the true meaning of at the time.
Well, today I am not that young anymore and I'm not just taking a vow; I am giving you a vow and a promise in words that are my own.
My love for you has grown so much. It's a deeper love, a grown-up love. There have been times when I believed the problems before us were too big to overcome and too painful to forgive. I have learned that I love you more and deeper than I could ever have imagined and that love is strong enough to overcome and forgive everything in our past.
I admit I've held back, but today I give in to that love and recommit myself to you. I love you more today because of all that we have come through and because of the person you've become.
I promise, from this day forward, to love and trust you more and more as time passes.
I promise to be there for you when you are sick, hurt, need comfort or when you just want to share your day.
I promise to make you feel needed and appreciated for all that you bring to our life together.
So, I stand today in front of our family, our friends and you, my husband, to make these vows to you and I promise to give you all of the best of me and probably some of the not so best of me, for as long as we both live.
