I am an L.P.N. with 30 yrs experience in M/S, OB, Peds and everything in between.
Currently I work at the local county jail, needed a break from taking care of kids with severe neuromuscular disease or cardiac issues for a while (most of these wee ones are terminal). I also volunteer for Make-a-Wish.
In my spare time I crank a wrench with Mr. Bird on our classic Firebirds.
Edited cause the cat hit enter.

I'm a family medicine doc (somewhat similar to a GP). Family Medicine does a little of everything.. We call it "womb to tomb" or "sperm to urn" medicine. I did stop delivering babies last year because it is so stressful and I'm too old to get up in the middle of the night and drive like a bat outta hell to get to the labor room on time. No thanks.
I do some clinic, some hospital work, supervise mid levels, teach residents and med stus and do a lot of administrative crap.
In a former life though I was a Long John Silvers cashier, lawn worker, math tutor, biology TA and drumroll please.... A Dominoes driver. BEST. JOB. EVER. I almost quit college to go to Ann Arbor, Michigan to train to be a franchiser. However my intellectual snobbery at the time drive me to being a doctor.
I fantasize about making pizza!

simplydevastated, there's nothing wrong with being in insurance, my father is a retired agent and my brother took over his agency. Being an insurance agent, my dad wasn't too thrilled the day I announced that I was applying to law school!
You're right. I really do like insurance. I'm just crazy like that
My job was really fun. I loved working with my HR contacts and it I made it my personal goal to make sure all my accounts had zero errors. One account I received (the toughest one) had 4.46% errors. We're not supposed to be over 1%. It was fun cleaning that up.
Law always fascinated me. It still does.
Before that I was in the Air Force and was one of the first women to be trained for combat.
Watch out for k94ever, she can kick some ass
(but I did have 3 cases dismissed yesterday with prejudice and won one on summary judgment) WOOOT WOOT!
Congratulations!
I'm should also add to my original post that I want to be and WILL be a writer one day.

thebighurts, OMG, I didn't think anyone over the age of say, 60, would know how to run one of those old antiques. The one I ran is literally in a museum now. ..... .....I'd quit my current job in a heartbeat if I could get one running a switchboard again.
@Clarissa, I think you more likely mean anyone under the age of 60 wouldn't know how to run one? The ones we ran are antiques, like me!
They certainly were fun. "One ringy-dingy". I miss that.
If I had to give up my current "job"
, it would be to do the one I dreamed of even back then: champion ice skater. It was a total dream because back then, I had only ever even worn skates ONCE! I could still be doing my traveling, only it would be something like touring in a Disney on Ice show! *sigh* My mid-day daydreaming for today.......

I've been a school bus driver for the last 5 years. I've driven the big and little buses, k-12th grade, and special needs children. It's always an adventure daily.
I was a SAHM before but this works well with having vacation days and summers off when my kids do. I get paid year round too per my contract. That's always a bonus.

I have worked daycare and taught HS English...so pretty much teaching birth-12th grade.
I've been a SAHM since 7/11/00.
Sort of. I worked for a short time for a research company right after DS was born. I've done various volunteer jobs (mainly teaching oriented). I currently draw a small paycheck as an independent health coach for TSFL (the coaching section of Medifast.) Small paycheck because I can't seem to go up to people and ask them if they ever thought they need to lose weight.
I've got applications out to go back to teaching, but what I'd like to do is start with getting my masters then teach child development/ education at a college or CC level. I don't want to teach HS again and even though everyone tells me I'm great with the little ones, it's not my passion.

This thread is great. It really shows the diversity of people who have come to a place to help each other get through the trials and tribulations of infidelity. No matter your occupation, station in life, income level etc. We all have been affected by an all too common tragedy in our lives. And I for one am glad for each and every one of you.
