My daughter's dance recital is tonight! I've charged the battery to the camera, and removed all that pictures off of it to make sure I have room. Her bouquet, 6 pink roses (one for each year of her age) has been ordered. Tickets are on my desk and my outfit is ironed and ready.

I can't wait! She's worked so hard to prepare for tonight. I'm so proud of her.

Post pics please,... I'm sure she will be the best dancer there tonight. I love that you will be giving her roses!

I'll try. I usually don't post pics of the my kids online.

Thank you. I think so, too.

I took my great-niece to dance lessons for 14 years and have sat through that many dress rehearsals and recitals. It was work, but I kind of miss it.

My granddaughter (age 3) just had her first recital last week. So cute!

Enjoy!

Awwww

I feel that way at every one of my son's concerts... he was in chorus and now band.

Always feel so proud.

I hope you have an awesome time and take lots of pictures.

Ohhhhhh, congratulations. This is such a perfect event! I remember my daughter's first dance recital 30 years ago. Hell, I still have her first dance recital tutu!!!! I just attended my 5-year-old granddaughter's dance recital a couple of weeks ago. Her parents (she's my son's daughter)knew nothing of diva bouquets, but Nana (me!) arrived with roses. MY DIL, who never took dance, had watched in horror as everyone arrived with bouquets, and she practically collapsed in thankfulness when she saw my bouquet. So much fun, watching the " babies" dance for the first time. And so much wonder in each later year to see how far they progress!

Age: 64..ummmmmmm, no...............65....no...oh, hell born in 1947. You figure it out!

Thanks everyone for your kind words and stories. I love reading them all.

We're home and tired. It started a half our late. She was awesome! I'm so proud of her. That was her first time doing anything like that and place was packed. She looked a little nervous walking out on stage but once the music started she went right into her routine and was wonderful! She had a "wardrobe malfunction" during one routine, her hat kept falling off So she kept picking it up and putting it back on. It was cute.

She loved her flowers and they are sitting proudly next to her bed. I took as many pictures as I could, the seats were close but at the side so we couldn't see her very well. Then we noticed a lot of seat cleared out behind us so we moved for her second and third performances.

Now, I'm going to crawl into bed and pass out.

Did I mention how proud of her I am?

When I was helping her change into nightgown she said to "Mama, I'm happy." and "You're the best mama in the whole wide universe." That was the best thing I heard all night

I read the title without the "I" .... Could not figure out how a went with that title. Once I read it for the 3rd time I got it.

I remember one of my first recitals ... I was 3 dressed as a black cat for one dance and then we danced as baby dolls. All I remember is being soooooo hot in that tiny theater in GA and soooooo many people ...

The cat dance was a tap number and the other one was about your ears hanging low, throwing them over your shoulder .... I think they have since revised this into using boobs or balls ....

I'm glad you guys had a fun time ...
