.. and a glass of Chassagne Montrachet

Pouilly-Fuisse works well, too. Or a vat of Veuve Cliquot!

Unless you're talking Value Added Tax I don't think you're going to find decent champagne in a 'vat.'

Maybe I'll do a traditional Newfie potato salad to go with it as well.

I'll bite. What is in traditional Newfie potato salad?

Part of me is hoping you to say the main ingredient is turnips

If you're in Toronto, wouldn't it be faster and cheaper to fly to Halifax or St. Johns, buy lobster there, and fly back?

I'm ashamed to admit I had a lobster here (Illinois) a year ago, and I thought it tasted good. My claim to being a Rhode Islander is getting weaker and weaker.

We consumed three 1.25 lb lobsters at my house tonight... Fresh steamed, flash frozen and shipped directly from Maine.

I didn't bother with anything else on my plate... the boys had baked potatoes and salad.

All I had was Lobster and Butter!

Mashed potatoes and onions mixed with Miracle Whip and French's mustard instead of mayo.

I know what you mean I am an east coaster in Nova Scotia and we were raised on lobster. Hard to believe that at one point in time if you ate lobster you were considered poor.

Well you can get it shipped from Clearwater :)

On another note we had lobster on our carribean cruise....it was nothing like east coast lobster, it wasn't sweet at all and less chewy.

That can possibly be arranged--or maybe some strawberry/rhubarb galettes.

Rhubarb

I have never had lobster. I grew up in the Midwest. I don't like most seafood. I live in DC now. Should I try lobster?

Lobster is probably the least seafoody seafood. Try it; you'll like it!
