I got called into the kitchen to witness this monstrosity hanging from my hutch. SO said it looked like something out of Jumnagi.

Damn mosquitoes. I woul d have freaked if I saw this thing on me.

Crane Fly!

Creepy, but harmless.

FBW then 46, XWHNPDPAFTG the destroyer of my entire life. D-Day 1 '99, D-Day 2,3,4,5,6... '09-'11, D '15. I fell apart. I put myself back together. Forgiveness isn't required. I'm happy and healthy now, and MY new life is good.

We have something that looks like a huge mosquito where we live but my H tells me they actually eat mosquitos. They look much like the pic you posted.

I am not a fan of insects. I mean I run screaming from some, literally. I really dislike mosquitoes. SO just had to share this with me though instead of just getting rid of it.

Yay! A skeeter-eater! They're not at all dangerous. About the worst that can be said about a crane fly is that the larvae ("leatherjackets") can eat up your lawn. Still, they're not as destructive as cutworms (read: baby effing June bugs OMG die die die -- I have June bug issues) and pretty easy to live with.

Thren, have a slight problem with Junebugs myself, especially going 60 on the back of a motorcycle and getting nailed right between the eyes by one. Actually happened to me...
