So...last night I stayed up and was mentally preparing for tonight's date! I showered (standard )...made sure to shave (which is not really typically standard on a daily basis....I mean...come on! I'm a single mom! ) Not that he will see my legs, cause I will most likely be wearing my skinny jeans.... Then, I put on my self-tanning glow lotion... (because I'm a very VERY white freckled chick and in the summer I self-tan.... don't judge!!! It gives me a nice glow and that way I don't blind people in public! )

Okay...so I stayed up and painted my toenails... cause my toes looked like they had been run over by Big Foot and backed up and re-run over! (I hadn't painted them since before my beach trip in May AND I'm a runner....nuff said!)

Then, this morning....I did my makeup totally neutral. Enough so that I look pretty but not so much that I would look like "Mimi" from the Drew Carrey Show! I don't want to look like I was gang banged by a Crayola truck... (not that I do normally....but I just didn't want to do too much!) Naturale is always best for 1st dates and interviews!

I curled the ends of my hair...and then picked up my 11 month old who then, in turn, grabs my hair on both sides and while standing on the bed, she starts swinging on my hair... and I start freaking... "No no NOOOO... STOP!"

Oh lord... so the hair might not look like I want...but maybe the "Looks-like-I-fell out-of-bed, I-am-Tarzan, you-are-Jane, my-11-month-old-thinks-I'm-a-race-horse-look" will give me character??

I think I have an outfit picked out for the date and just have to pick up my sitter after work and head home to freshen up and change! At least now I FEEL pretty!!

Ama, too true. I wear nice matching undies/bra all the time these days. Not raunchy, but it makes me feel pretty.

Its not for anyone else's benefit but my own (usually.....). It has been really nice getting back into self-care. I am shocked at how little time I spent pampering myself for so many years. I didn't stop liking myself because I stopped the self-care, I stopped the self-care because I stopped liking myself.

Yeah...painting my toes was totally for ME! I enjoyed it! They are blue with green glitter! I switched out my purse for my one and ONLY Coach bag...which is smaller and white and turquoise-y for Summer! I know guys don't care about that kind of stuff but I think it will give me a little extra bounce and swagger in my step tonight for the date!

I know! It takes a lot of time to look gorgeous! My SO took me out for a special date on Saturday. It took hours to go from the ranch-hand look to pretty and feminine. But the end result felt great and I even got compliments on the street from strangers.

She11y.....you are beautiful with different colored powders on you.....anything you do will simply make you irrestable.

The important thing is to go and be yourself and enjoy the date.

And remember....it's just a date. Nothing more. Relax and enjoy.

And of course we will all need to hear about it tomorrow.....
