We have had a family tradition since the kids were born to get professional family pics taken almost every year. The last time was almost two years ago. We didn't do them last year because DS was deployed. When DS was home in August I cornered all my kids and had a new set of family pics taken with just the four of us, our new family unit. My pics have always been displayed in my office where I see them every day. Well I just got the new set of pics and replaced those in my office. It was with great pleasure that I was able to remove POS's pic and replace it with a new memory. These new pics were not in the traditional "dress em up" format that we always did. Rather, everyone wanted to have fun with them and do something entirely different to establish a new twist on an old tradition...everyone was dressed in camo.
We had great fun having them done with much laughter and joy, and the pics turned out beautiful (I may be biased
).
Going through the motion of replacing the "old" with the "new" felt really good and it is a joy to look up and see my kids' smiling faces every day knowing it is a new beginning!
Just a few more weeks and the legal fresh start will begin as well...

Good for you Phoenix! My son and I had our picture done together 7 months after DD. People wanted a picture of us to replace the family picture that we had done the year before. Like you, we dressed in jeans, sneakers and CAMO! It was fun and the pics turned out nice. I was so glad that I did it too...
