I arranged for someone to cover me for my vacation. I called mgr of office A and he made it happen for me.

Yesterday, the person covering me calls my boss and said she cant cover me the tuesday of my vacation because she is scheduled elsewhere. I called to find out a person in office B has a dr's appt and her boss is going on her 5th vacation of the year. Uh, no. I confirmed this with your boss six weeks ago. The other person will have to reschedule her dr's appt just like ive had to many, many times.

Boss of office B calls to find out if I am going away or if im staying around. If I am staying around why cant I just work that day? Are you kidding me?!!!! If the tables were turned I would be told to rescbedule my appt. Too bad. I am nice. Im not an effing doormat!!!!

Im waiting to see if they will go above me to get what they want.

Why cant my life go smooth. Why does it have to be so damd complicated? Why do I have to constantly fight or struggle with people?

Im seriously a hairs breath from snapping.

It shouldn't matter where you are, it's your vacation.

They need to deal and make other arrangements like you said you have had to.

Quit answering your phone unless you can see caller ID and who it is. I've been known to turn off my phone during my vacation ... just saying ....

Imagine a ship trying to set sail while towing an anchor. Cutting free is not a gift to the anchor. You must release that burden, not because the anchor is worthy, but because the ship is.

Quite honestly it doesn't matter if you stay or go. If you have documentation of approved time off, they have no business bothering you.

If you have a work cell then update your VM saying you are on vacation, and unavailable. If they call your personal cell phone, you have ZERO obligation to answer.....Make sure you are keeping documentation for yourself for all the times you switched up things to meet everyone elses needs.

That's the kind of stuff that comes back on evaluations, and you can pull your proof, and tell them to kiss your ass.

@TN, thats an excellemt idea. I was wondering how I was going to deal with reprocussions if I didnt give in.

My soon to be ex boss told me not to worry. He said I arranged the vacation and the persons boss confirmed it. I did things the right way. The mgr of the 3rd office (the one trying to push us to release my sub) dropped the ball by not making sure her employee was covered for the day ocf before she (mgr) went on vacation. This situation is her problem, not mine.

Time to be my own bff.
