So while driving home from guitar lessons DS and I were talking about school and what subjects he likes. His favorites currently are Math and Social Studies. I told him mine were History and English. I got a bit of a nose wrinkle at that one..lol. He said he likes them but he hates having to write stuff. I am the opposite, I hated math and I loved to write. I was a member of the writers club, I won public speaking competitions, I enjoyed producing papers . In fact I always wanted to be a writer.

So he gives me a calculating look and says "well, why didn't you?"

"ummm....well I guess life kind of got in the way. I got busy, had you. I just never did it."

"Well mom, why not now. You always tell me to do what you love and to follow your dreams. Why don't you write a book for me? "

And so the gauntlet has been thrown. My 12 year old son has challenged me to write him a book. How do I say no to that….and where do I get the time to write a book? This should be interesting.

I was a member of the writers club

Challanged is spelled challenged.

Yep, I'm a bit of a smartass today.

Life is what happens when you're busy making plans.

I agree - he's right - go for it!

Never done it myself, but it's a way to immerse yourself in the process. And add some accountability.

Take care of yourself. There's a great future out there. It won't come to you; you have to go to it.
