I can still remember how that first freedom smelled/felt/tasted. It was/is glorious. Not to say I don't still get sad - but it feels like a healthy sad, not a suffocating sad.
Well now he's free to run his life exactly how he likes which is why he woke up in a cheap hotel this morning.
And all is right with the world....
It just dawned on me how long I was protecting the sad clown from himself. Sometimes consciously, mostly subconsciously.
Its amazing what happens when you pour that energy into yourself.
I may have reached a point where I'd piss on him if he was on fire.... eventually!!

Congrats! Breathe the clean air of freedom! You will feel even better when locks and garage door opener are changed. That little step made a big difference for me.

Congratulations! Lobed the story about his houses, his dumping of house 1 for house 2 sounds like a metaphor for the poor decision making that necessitated him moving out of the family home in the first place! I can't wait to be rid of my man toddler...

careerlady, it is a mix of ego, impulsivity and want, want, want. I suggested that he worked on House 1, sold it, took the profit and bought a house he really wanted. But that was ignored! So nice to be able to let go and let him fuck it up.
SBB, I was in the same situation, running round with the safety net, clearing up after him, smoothing over situations, and a lot of heading off trouble. Worse because we ran our own business, I had to deal every work-related problem. It was a horrible way to live. I always felt on edge every time the mail came, wondering what would be in it. Plus, it dragged me down because of his poor credit.
I held it all together and he resented me for it.

I want to tell you to keep your guard up for a little while. When WH moved out, he went back and forth, freaked out some, etc. A couple of times he came here yelling and telling me all kinds of crap.
So, I told my children that our home, our property boundaries were our "safe" haven. We are at peace here, and no one is going to bother us, that the drama will never happen again. So the next time xwh came over acting wierd, I called the police. Ever since the D was final, he has to wait in the car for the kids to come out. Period. There is no "getting along" with this type person at first.
After 1 year, he has decided to bring the POS OW with him on pickup. So,I've been to the sheriff's office to get the Order of No Tresspass served to her. THIS IS MY HOME, my safe haven and she can sit her ass in the road if she wants to come with XWS.
Happy for you, btw!!!
Sometimes He calms the storm. Sometimes He lets the storm rage, but calms His child. Dday 12/19/11I went to an attorney and had him served. Shocked the hell out of him, with D papers, I'm proud to say!D final10/30/2012Me-55
