I'm starting this early because I have to do some shopping and get gas before work tonight. Once again, I'm at work until 12:30am, but I'm scheduled for a 5-mile hike at 10am tomorrow--and it's supposed to be 12 degrees F! I'm almost hoping it gets cancelled.
It's snowing already, and we're supposed to have a storm tomorrow afternoon into Sunday. If it materializes, I'll probably spend Sunday on the couch watching Christmas movies and football. I still need a tree--anyone want to deliver??
Happy weekend!

You’re a brave woman for even considering that hike!
As for the tree, you can have mine. I’m still debating whether or not to set it up as the only free real-estate is in front of the coat closet or on the stair landing
My weekend is going to be online shopping, and hopefully getting fantastic sleep on my just arrived new mattress

I'm recovering from minor surgery yesterday. So this evening I'm cuddling with my ice pack on the couch.
Saturday I was hoping to get some shopping out of the way. But we are on the edge of either a lot of snow or a lot of rain, so my shopping trip depends on the weather.
Sunday, catching up on work missed and football.

We've got snow coming too, but only 1-3" or so. Piece o' cake.
Hitting up Happy Hour with some pals tonight.
I have two Holiday Open Houses tomorrow - one in the afternoon, one in the evening and another one on Sunday in the afternoon after WW weigh-in (if I go - will have to see how I do on Saturday) and church.
Thinking I'll be holidayed out after that!

I'm on the hunt still for those sexy cognac boots I've been looking for that seem to elude me. So braving the Christmas mobs and going shopping for sure. Oh, and gotta pick up some more exotic spices cuz I'm going to be doing a lot of cooking these next few weeks. Oh, and vanilla bean for the cookies.
I'm grabbing a bite to eat with another SI or two member(s).
Doing some heavy duty cleaning and church on Sunday. And if I get around to it, I'll brave the office and garage and start packing up some more of Shrekf!#@ers crap in falling apart boxes and Hefty bags. Like I said IF I get to it.

This is my first homework-free weekend, squee!
Kicking it off with a massage tonight. Meet with friends tomorrow for pizza or maybe happy hour at the wine bar.
MUST catch up on my budget spreadsheet and add up the damage from the last few months.
Have to go downtown and cruise my favourite second hand book store for vintage magazines, I get those as presents. People love them.
Have to pick up my new glasses at some point. I've spent a f*cking fortune this year on teeth and glasses, sheesh.
That's how I'm justifying buying the new guitar. I deserve something that's not maintenance.

Tonight, I went to a winery and Italian restaurant with 11 work friends. It was wonderful.
Tomorrow morning, a massage with my mom and sister.
Tomorrow night, company Christmas party at the country club.
Sunday, I need to clean out my garage to make room for the furnace guys to replace my furnace. I don't think I'll ever be warm again. I also need to make sure that my driveway is passable, because we are expecting freezing rain on Sunday.
Monday, I'm off to spend it with the furnace guys.

I'm spending tomorrow with my sister looking at not-quite-assisted living type places for our mom. Sunday will be all about doing laundry and cleaning. Hopefully I'll be able to have a nice lunch with my sister tomorrow, in between our tours. That might be the only relaxing I get to do this weekend.

Kiddos and I got a snow day today, so the weekend started early! It was super helpful-- I ran a bunch of really annoying errands that needed to be dealt with and got them off of my plate. The kids and I then enjoyed one of our favorite dinners and an at-home movie night.
Tomorrow, I have a dress rehearsal for my choir concert if the weather cooperates. Then, I'm stopping in at a party my brother is having, then hanging out with my parents so that my dad and I can do our yearly Christmas cookie baking.
Sunday, we're just going to hang with my parents until my afternoon concert; once my concert is over, I'll pick up the kids from my parents' house, and we'll settle back into the usual routine before school starts the next day. My students will be turning in their research papers this week, though, so I'm going to enjoy my last few days of relative freedom before I get sucked into grading hell.

Blech. Weekends don't really happen in my world, but here's how mine is going.......
The Bear came down with the stomach flu at 1:00 or so this morning. The poor man has been sick as a dog.
Mom had a blood vessel rupture in her eye yesterday evening, so I had to scramble to get her in to the eye doc today. As usual, he says nothing they can do (this is the 5th or 6th time this has happened)
I'm just trying to keep the woodstove burning to survive the damned deep-freeze we've been in around here. Thank God The Bear, my grandson, and I all worked our butts off and got a good supply of wood socked away before this hit.
We're supposed to go to party tomorrow night - which would be fun - but I don't know if The Bear is gonna be mended by then. If not, another night by the fire, and that would be fine.
I'm just tired of winter (already) and it's only mid-December. Ugh!!!
Dealing with a mom with dementia and a woodstove is proving more to be more of a trial than I'd anticipated. I just hope to hell she doesn't burn my house down. No, I'm not kidding. I'm afraid to leave her alone in the house right now (after yesterday's incident). Shit!
So.....I'm going to have to start planning my trips to town and find a granny-sitter to fill in when I can't be here.

We have to cram in a bunch of holiday related stuff while the kids are with me this weekend.
Today, we go to swim lessons and for pancakes at Denny's right after - that's pretty much a given every weekend. Then, go to see Santa at a place that also has real reindeer outside with the big man. Cookie baking with my mom and the kids. Then, tonight, meet friends for a drink to celebrate their anniversary.
Tomorrow, get the tree and decorate. After dark, get doughnuts and hot chocolate as we drive around to see Christmas lights. There is an area of town that everyone is telling us to see this year.
I hope we can get through without the kids killing each other.

I took Fri off to help out at Teslet's school with their holiday craft day, then listened to Teslet's class sing a Christmas program. Then we hit the road...traveling to a place where my folks always took my siblings and me for Christmas.
Staying in one of those hotels with a slash park. HEAVEN!! (I didn't tell Teslet about it...the look on his face when he realized we were staying here!)
So we did splash park stuff last night. Today is all the special Christmas things I used to do as a kid, then more splash park stuff tonight. Tomorrow one more quick trip to the splash park in the morning and drive back home...hopefully to a mailbox stuffed full of SI Christmas cards!!!

Yesterday I had a George Costanza worlds colliding moment as I'd organized a happy hour that involved my work friends and running friends. Had a great time!
Today I went for a walk with a friend and got some errands done. Ran into my dentist at the hardware store which was fun! I have cleaning and relaxing to do today, and I might help my friend move, but the weather is pretty awful and I was hoping to not drive today.
Tomorrow I need to get a run in. I have brunch plans with friends and another friend and her husband have asked me over to watch football with them. Not sure if I'm going or not. I've been pretty social lately and kind of want to spend some time alone.

Doing my darnedest to stay inside, dry and warm. I have heard anything from 5"-12" of snow the rest of today (I'd guess we have maybe 3" so far). Thankful that so far the puppy hasn't been too interested in much outdoor time.
The local cat shelter has announced it's closed today but they still need the volunteers to go in and clean/feed. I'm waiting to see what the snow situation is like when my shift starts in an hour. I will probably trudge over and hope someone's there to let me in since I don't have a key.
Really really want to move south. I just hate snow and cold more every year.
Looking a lot at a nice town called Edenton,NC...
