Hello All!
First and foremost, thanks to everyone for the thoughts, prayers and Mojo sent my way. I really do appreciate it! Second, sorry for not updating this thread until now. My only excuse is that it's been a really trying week for me.
I had the C surgery & biopsy last Monday (1/6). Unfortunately it didn't go as well as I had hoped. They doubled the area they were going to remove as the C was very deep. The biopsy showed it in some other lymph nodes besides the sentinel node. All of these had to be removed and were also very deep. My left forearm looks like it had a huge chunk bitten out of it. If I had to guess, I figure I lost about 1/8 to 1/4 of my upper arm & under arm.
I'm currently in a full arm compression sleeve and also wearing a drain that was sutured in during surgery. I will be wearing both until 1/16 when I have my post-op appointment. I will also find out that day *if* I need to go on chemo as everything they removed was sent to a lab.
Although I am in pain and experiencing other normal stuff after surgery, the hardest part of this again is the waiting game. I've been so tired since the surgery I sleep about 3/4 of the day away. Don't know if that is just the anesthesia wearing off or some kind of depression setting in. I'm trying like hell to live in the moment... stay positive etc... but being totally honest, it's a losing battle some days. Today is the first time since last Monday I even felt like doing anything. I am trying to eat & drink so as not to get run down or dehydrated... so I guess that's a plus.
Well that's it folks. Sorry again for the delay getting this up.
All the best....
