East of Eden by John Steinbeck and pretty much anything by Larry McMurtry

And, in nonfiction, Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl.

I have millions more that I love, but these are the books I read and re-read.

This one isn't high literature or anything...but "Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas" (James Patterson) is an all time favorite of mine. I need to read it with a box of tissues and I have read it over 50 times, easily.

The Journeyer, by Gary Jennings

Horrible first chapter and an ending that just sort of dribbled off, and even a pretty horrifying torture scene I had to skip over entirely...

Sounds awful, doesn't it? It still lives in my mind. It came to life...

I ordered a Fannie Flagg book, A Redbird Christmas, I've heard it's a great book and people seem to like anything by her. ?

I'm asking.

Looked into reading the Monuments Men vs seeing the movie but on this one, I think I'll see the movie.

So many good books....have been a reader since I was a child under the covers using a flashlight to read my Nancy Drew books, but after Dday I couldn't read at all. I really missed my reading.

After a few years I found I could focus and read again. I've been eating books ever since....these are some of my favorites.

Five Smooth Stones - Ann Fairbairn

Bridge of San Luis Rey – Steinbeck

1Q84 - Hiroki Murakami

Unbroken – Hillebrand

Atlas Shrugged – Ayn Rand

My Name is Asher Lev – Chaim Potok

The Goldfinch – Donna Tartt

On Writing – Stephen King

The Gunslinger Series – Stephen King

The Orphan Master’s Son – Adam Johnson

Game of Thrones – George R.R. Martin (the whole series)

Just finished "The Demonologist" by Andrew Pyper and absolutely loved his writing.

Huge Stephen King fan....I know it is not really literature but it sure is entertaining.

For Whom the Bell Tolls

Cod, can't remember who wrote this one but it is a great read.
