My beloved BIL experienced 3 mini-strokes (TIAs) on Sunday during work. Luckily he works in the hospital as an anesthesiologist so he was literally just a few floors above the ER. But no previous symptoms of anything wrong.

After testing they've found a brain tumor, a lung tumor and tumor on his hip.

He is only 51 and is the epitome of good health; you know the people that work out every day and don't eat junk food, and didn't smoke, or need any prescription medicines, or do anything that they say is unhealthy? That is him.

They did radiation right away for the brain tumor to help prevent additional TIA due to it's extreme size. Further testing is underway to find out about lungs and hip. They are already talking radiation and chemotherapy.

My sister is 43 and trying to hold it together for my 3 year old niece. I feel so helpless from so far away...she lives in CA and I'm in the northeast. His mom is arriving today for an extended stay and then my parents will head out afterwards.

He is a great person and offers so much; a long-term air force veteran, genuine in his feelings and not afraid to talk about them, but most of all love love loves my sister and niece. They are the center of his world and he treats them like a queen and princess.

SI mojo would be appreciated; their life has been turned upside down within just a few short hours. It is a real eye-opener to what is truly important in life.
