Thanks, all. That's not ALL the grass, either! I'm gonna need a riding lawn mower. Or a close connection to my farmer neighbours!

I'm sure that will come, but not Molson, TR. I will happily drink Coors Lite, but the other beer drinkers in my family are snooty about their quaffs. There will be Guinness and Stella Artois for sure.

Oh gosh, that is too cute. Look at those mooselets. I won't be in moose country but I might get a visit from a deer or two. I want to plant a veggie garden so I have to talk to the new neighbours re: deer and rabbits.

Soon as I can get this sucker refurbished and furnished! I'll let you know! LOL. I take possession on Feb. 28 and normally I could move VERY quickly. However, the property is 2 1/4 hours from my city house, so the logistics will be a bit dicey. I'm heading there this weekend to measure windows for drapery and to map out rooms.

Looks so beautiful!! I think you need a couple of Muskoka chairs on the lovely deck where you can contemplate life with a glass of wine gazing at your property on a lovely summer night...moon and stars overhead. Congrats on your getting your piece of paradise!

I think I DO, kidding! Luckily I know a man who makes them.

I've already assembled a huge pile of furnishings/kitchen gear to move down there post-possession day. Exciting!

I took possession on Friday last with what may be the country's latest closing ever. The seller's mortgage holder dragged their feet so long on the mortgage discharge, I expect they need plasters for their blistered heels.

My son and I got the keys around 6:30 p.m., unloaded all our equipment and immediately got to work.

The kitchen has large patio doors, two side windows and a window over the sink. The existing dark counter, dark wood cabinets and dark red paint managed to make a light-filled space look so crappy dingy. Over the last 4 days, I have painted the walls a soft yellow, painted (most of) the cabinets a bright white, installed stainless appliances, and replaced the ugly narrow wood trim on the windows (with those little square icons--the ones designed for people who can't make proper mitre cuts--in the corners)with a wide white trim. It looks like a different kitchen!

The little granddaughters and their Mum drove down Saturday. They were so excited. "Nana T, where's my room? Where's my room?" I think they will have a whole lot of fun there when the snow disappears and the sun makes the swimming pool viable. I can't wait to see what's under that white blanket in the backyard,

Beautiful!

What paint do you use to paint the cabinets? The last time I painted cabinets the paint was easily chipped and looked very worn in just a short time.

Keep posting pics... I love getting ideas for redoing my space.

Hugs,

K
