The guys will probably relate more to this one ladies. No offense.
So, this is the best V-day I've had in a long time. No pressure to "perform". WW always "expected" V-day to be like the movies. I hate the commercialization of today. I loved her 365 days a year, not just February 14. The flowers I sent to her work or brought home to her every month or so meant just as much as the roses I had to pay triple for on February 14. But, I did like to make her happy, and I gladly did it.
Anyway, this year there are no worries about if the flowers are delivered to work, if the card says the right thing, if the reservation was at the right restaurant, etc. Absolutely ZERO stress related to valentines, and I LIKE it!
So, here's me raising a glass to all of you in the same boat! Cheers!

I'm happy you are happy, but I'm sorry your WW didn't appreciate the effort you did put in.
It's such a shame really. I keep seeing all these posts from some perfectly wonderful gentlemen who actually REMEMBERED Valentine's Day, and their spouses not appreciating how much effort and love was put into that act alone.
Hell I would have been happy for him to just say "Happy Valentine's Day!" and remember it all on his own. Every year it was the same thing, "I forgot". Really, I WISH I COULD FORGET! How the hell do you forget something that is plastered all over the damn place?
To all those considerate men that actually showered attention and love on your WSs, I hope you have a great and stress free day today too!

But that's just a lot of water

I think today is a happy day, too! I'm finally free to feel nothing and do nothing on V-Day. I don't have to shave my legs (although I will in a bit simply because I'll be in the shower anyway), don't have to put on gawd-awfully uncomfortable lingerie that I never would wear under any other circumstance, don't have to pretend to be hot & horny for someone who bought me the $4.95 bunch of wilted roses at the drugstore. I don't have to pretend to be thrilled & grateful at all about anything. I don't have to give anyone a blow job today or tonight, and THAT is the best part of being divorced today.
I am free.

OMG I about died laughing! Thank you, I needed this today. TMI I know, but I actually enjoyed THAT part of V-Day!

Its always bothered me that VDay you better do something. What about the other 364 days I showed my love? That doesn't count? Arbitrary/compulsory affection loses its oomph, don't ya think?
I'm in the just found out stage, and have the same sentiment that I have absolutely NO pressure to do anything... feels great!
But that's just like...my opinion, man. I could be wrong.

I agree with you all. I WISH that was my VDay today. I had to get a card, that said something vaguely resembling hearts and flowers feelings when I don't have them. He gave me a truly sappy card, but I seriously don't think it was meaningful - I view it as window dressing. He has something special for his MCOW today, I hope it's VD.
I just want to say kudos to you guys that show(ed) your love and affection for your women all 365 1/4 days of the year, not just one. It gives me hope that my DD15 may find a man like that when she is older, because men raise boys to be like them. I hope she finds a boy raised by a considerate man.
Happy UnValentines Everyone!
