Had my fallopian tubes removed yesterday. I'm in Germany amd figured there would be differences between German and US health care. I wasn't expecting that the pain med they would give me after surgery would be Tylenol. Like that's supposed to help. I literally have tears streaming down my face and asked for something stronger for pain. They gave me 800mg Motrin. What. The. Fuck. Do the doctors here not realize that I WAS CUT OPEN?! I would very much like to not feel like I'm dying. I've never wanted so badly to be in the US.

Oh no....that's not nearly enough to make you comfortable after SURGERY!
I wouldn't even get relief from menstrual cramps with an 800mg ibuprofen.
Start asking for pain meds by name. Vicodin, or Lortab, or Demerol. Dilaudid.
Dilaudid is a good one. I had dilaudid through IV injection after my surgery last year.

I managed to get Toradol last night but it still wasn't enough. I hope they release me early enough to make it to the on post clinic before it closes, otherwise I will have to wait until Tuesday to get pain meds. I don't think I can make it that long.

I don't know why you're there or what the story is, but methinks you need to get resourceful.

Wow, fuck that!
I live in Switzerland, and after my 14 yo son was operated on for appendicitis, he was given MORPHINE. Not 'kiddie tylenol'.

Don't wait for them to "release" you! If you're ambulatory, get the hell out of there and go to the clinic. BTDT.
Sorry you're hurting.

I was released from the hospital this morning and immediately went to the clinic on post. They gave me some hydrocodone and it has helped immensely. Now I just have to figure out how to shower without hurting myself.

I'm so glad the clinic was able to give you something to help with the pain. Sending healing mojo.

Sending healing vibes and hopes the hydrocodone helps you a lot. Do take a stool softener to go with that... it can shut down your GI and make things worse.
