No, they don't. Excessive drinking is not anyone's responsibility aside from your own. It is not for anyone to fix but you. I have had my own excessive drinking moments over this crap, so I get the pain. Not judging. You've found that you're in the realm of alcoholism though, and that is a problem unrelated to your wife or any other life experience.

It is your responsibility to get your drinking under control.

Your sobriety is on you.
