Thank you. I'm sitting in my office crying. My wife told me not to cry at work today.
I've been having a rough time. I needed to read this.
I've been such a bad Christian. You talking about that hunger. It reminds me of this song, I usually repeat a line over and over in my head. "I'm dying of thirst".
And it reminded me of Jesus and the Samaritan woman. John 4:13-14
(13) Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, (14) but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
I'm going to need to read this over again. And I need to open my heart up to the Lord again. I keep thinking it's open, but it's only cracked slightly. Thank you Maia.

TheFallen, you are not a "bad Christian!" What do you think Matthew 9 12 means? He said, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means: "I desire compassion and not sacrifice,' for I did not come to call the righteous but sinners." You have it all backwards! Jesus came FOR YOU. He didn't come for people who forgot to cross themselves when they get communion and feel a little bad about it (though he loves them too). He came for people who feel fallen, helpless, like they are so far down that there is nothing they can do to climb their way out of the pit that they are in, that they will never deserve or earn their way back. If Maia was here she would tell you to read Wild at Heart by John Eldredge, do that first! And start to see with fresh eyes.

Yes. Go look up Wild at Heart by John Eldredge. It's a book, a good one. It will help you. Also a book by the same author called Waking the Dead
