My daughter has dyslexia. She could not read in grade 4. She worked really hard, and learned to read. She then graduated from high school with honours, then university with honours.
There are not really any jobs for someone with an art degree, so she worked part time at a museum, and part time at lens crafters (eye glasses)
Then she decided to become an optician which she's currently in school for whilst still working.
She told me today she's going to keep going and become an eye doctor.
I am so proud of my girl, my heart is bursting!

As someone who used to have two eyes and now has only one, I have a great deal of gratitude and admiration for eye doctors. Good on her!

Thanks for such a positive uplifting post about your daughter. Great for her and those of us that require treatment for ourselves and family members.

This is awesome news !
My step-daughter also is dyslexic and even though it took her a very long time, she recently graduated from nursing school ( BSN )
Passed her N-Clex test 2 weeks ago and is starting her job as an RN this Monday.
None of us thought she would make it, but she did and we are all very happy !

That’s awesome! My son has dyslexia, too. I bet your daughter will be an amazing doctor, and help so many people!
