I'm wondering is there a place online where people that just want to talk to others. I tried one last week and was asked for naked pictures within 3 minutes. I'm not looking for dates. Just People to talk to. Just conversations, no meeting, or anything. Just friendly chatter.

I would say maybe Facebook groups.. Find one that interests you or is aligned with one of your hobbies.

Yes, there are places to just chat with people... but unfortunately, you are going to get a lot of guys asking for nudes, regardless of the forum.
I have a female friend who is really into a discussion group for pets. It's fairly common for guys to proposition her, apparently. This is the sad state of the internet, I think.

I joined a couple of camping groups on FB. On the group page, it's all business. But I've built friendships and now have a couple of "pen pals." No one has ever propositioned me. I also don't flirt, though. If I sense fishing, I ignore and steer the conversation in another direction. Exactly like boundaries to stay faithful in real life, actually. If everyone did that, none of us would be here! Sigh...
