It’s SO hard. I had severe PTSD after DDay #2. I still do but it’s getting better with my FWH consistent behavior. I would shake and have a panic attack just seeing his phone in his hand. It’s truly awful. Also our “gut instincts” don’t work anymore. We are hyper-vigilante and our fight or flight instincts are in overdrive and always active. Early on I was in a constant state of anxiety and I couldn’t trust my instincts anymore. I learned that fear causes anxiety and true intuition is a calm feeling. It’s very difficult to separate the two and it takes WORK. Even now I’ll suddenly get anxiety and I’m like “what’s up are you doing something bad? Are you taking to her? What’s going on?” My FWH will always reply and respond calmly and try to help me through it. It’s a horribly tough road and many days I don’t know if I can travel it anymore.
