It seems to me that under RIO's logic, all the CS has to do is stop "wanting" to cheat.
That strikes me as pretty weak and is certainly no basis upon which I could R.
No. What they "want" is inconsequential. It's what they DO that matters.
I'm going to go for the popularity winner of the day here with this one...
Do you think I don't "want to" cheat? Or, more directly, do you think that I don't "want to" sleep with other attractive women? Of course I want to. Just like I want to eat 3 gallons of ice cream and get a 6 pack for my troubles. "Want to" has got nothing to do with it. I want to sleep until noon and earn a million in interest a day too. "Want" however, has got nothing what so ever to do with what I'm actually going to do today. I woke up at 5 and started working, not because I wanted to, but because that's part of my job as an employee. I don't sleep with the women I "want to" because that's part of my job as a husband, and it's the promise that I made as part of my marriage vows. And no, I don't feel like I'm "white knuckling" it, I feel like I made a choice (get married, join this company, etc) and I continue to make choices every day in line with those decisions made many years ago. But those choices are very often in opposition to what I "want to" do.
I don't want to R with someone who just doesn't "feel like" cheating (IE, they don't want to). I want to R with someone who understands and accepts the appeal of cheating but makes a decision and abides by that decision to NOT cheat anyway.
