till I got my 80 volt battery operated weed wacker. I absolutely love it!

Yes, we had a battery-operated one that lasted pretty long, but because I had so many beds (besides the driveway and sidewalks), it would still run out, so I just bought an extra battery and kept it charged, too. I've been told it's the technology of the battery that makes a good battery-operated garden tool. And I've been told Ryobi has the best battery technology. We have a gardener now that does everything, so we got rid of all of our yard tools, but we do still have a battery-operated blower, so we can blow off our patio if we need to during the week between his visits.

Although people call it a weed eater, I used to refer to it as a trimmer or edger. It wasn't necessarily to eat weeds, but to keep a lawn more manicured.

I bought a battery powered one a few years ago. I was worried about the battery life, but I find I lose interest with weed whipping long before the battery wears out

You could advertise for drive-thru vasectomies with that one!

Went from grass trimming to cannabis edibles to vasectomies....omg I'm dying here this is so funny. Only SI could produce such a topic variety in a single thread lol

Myname...

OMG... It has been 92° and above here since I wrote that question about weed eating. So, at 67 years old, needless to say, I have not been out in 93° weed eating!

But I want you to know that I am absolutely going to carry my phone out with me when I go, and look at your instructions Word for Word.

Thanks so much for all of those very specific instructions… I think maybe you were a teacher in another life!

Pay someone else to do it!!

Sorry ZenMum, but wrong answer. The correct answer is "have your kids do it for free."

Also, for the purposes of full disclosure, I was *hoping* this conversation would be about cannabis edibles. I am, literally, getting high right now (using my vaporizer, not edibles).

My other advice is to get a cheap, battery-powered weed eater. The cheap part is important because you want crappy batteries and components... the crappier, the lighter it will be.

I bought a low-end Ryobi trimmer about 4 years ago. I happen to have some high-end Ryobi batteries and the batteries were literally so powerful that I burned out the trimmer within a few weeks (i.e., I burned out the motor).

I bought another one because it was so light and easy to use. It's not powerful, but as long as I use it in short bursts of effort... it works great and it's so EASY TO USE.

I honestly don't know if you can get a weed trimmer as crappy as the one that I have anymore. They all seem to advertise "as powerful as gas" and silly things like that.

I had seen your post and my first thought was we need MyName! Of course my scatter brain got all scattered and I didn't post that. If I could I'd hire him to do my landscaping.

And ya if it's that hot out stay inside with a nice iced tea. Or cold beer. Lol.

We had a storm system move through here yesterday. I went out early to do shopping hoping to miss the crowds and get back before the rain. On my way home alerts were going off on the radio and my phone non stop. I drove through one hell of a storm with two funnel looking clouds on each side of the road. I couldn't read the text alerts but I found out later they said that if you were in the cell area receiving them to take immediate cover as there was a tornado warning. Wh was home outside cutting the grass at the side of the driveway. Both he and DS were at the end of the driveway when the storm hit out of nowhere. They ran back with the mower in tow. He managed to get the easy side of the driveway done. I'll be doing the nasty hill this week.

To bad I dont have a longer cord so I could just whipper snipper it all instead of use the mower lol
