I'm 10 days past ovulation, I may be pregnant now (I've never gotten a positive before 12 DPO). I have my first appointment with a RE on Thursday. I'm about to jump out of my skin at this point. The waiting, the waiting!

I requested for my records to be sent from the OB's office on August 5. Called the RE office today and of course they don't have them. Called the OB's office, "Oh yes, I sent them, they should have them tomorrow at the latest!" Hmm, why do I feel like I'll be picking them up myself?

I wonder what he'll do if I'm pregnant. At least if I'm not pregnant I'll have the comfort (hopefully) of a plan moving forward.

Hate waiting.

Praying for you this week.

When dealing with medical records, it is sometimes easier to just get the copies yourself while you are there. If then you needs to see anyone else you know you have them. IT is INCREDIBLY frustrating to know that you asked them to be sent the specialist has probably asked for them, and they still don't have them???? This stuff gets faxed. NOT mailed.

I can tell you as someone who managed a specialists office we often gathered all the information we needed prior to the first visit so the Dr's could review, evaluate, and create their treatment plan prior to the patient coming into the office. Perhaps this is the situation and the new dr has your paperwork, and the person in the front office has no conception what goes on in the back office.

She wanted to mail it because there was so much of it. She said, "Wow, you have a really big chart, does he need all of this?" I'm like . . . um, the reason I have a really big chart is because of all my fucked-up pregnancy shit, and that's the whole reason I'm going to see this guy, so yeah. Send him all of it." LOL. I did tell her to leave off all the routine visits before 2008 but most of it is pregnancy-related stuff.

I hope you're right and that they do have the records. I'm going to call after lunch and make sure - if not I'll drive over to my OB tomorrow at lunch and get a copy. I think I have to pay if I do that but that's ok.

Thank you Aubrie.

I've heard of the "RE effect" - where you finally get fed up & schedule an appointment & then get a positive pregnancy test - looks like that happened to me. EXTREMELY faint lines (2 different tests) this morning. Mr. Green couldn't see them but I could (I've gotten very good at spotting lines, lots of practice).

So I called my OB & the RE. I'm keeping my appointment there, he'll check my progesterone & assuming the pregnancy turns out to be viable, he will care for me up to 9 weeks, then turn me over to my doctor.

So. A plan. And here goes pregnancy #5 (unless I've lost my mind & have started hallucinating lines)!

I loved my RE! He had a great way of making me feel relaxed by using humor- it was appropriate humor, well, mostly. You know, the procedures allow for things that wouldn't really be said outside of the office.

Be sure to check in after your appointment!

Positive thoughts continue.

Oh and there is a reason for all those questions...... It's kinda like warning labels. We ask them because well someone did it once, or had it once, or we found (yes I said found) it once.

Well, the positives - I like the guy. He listened to me, went over my chart, my pregnancy history. He's going to recheck my TSH levels, he is checking my progesterone, HCG. He's nice without being gooshy and matter-of-fact without being cold, so that's great.

Negatives - he did an ultrasound and apparently I have a pocket of fluid that he said "is not usual" for this stage of pregnancy. He said it could be a problem or it could be nothing. Can't really say either way yet.

So I'm just like I've never had an ultrasound this early (I'll only be four weeks tomorrow) so I have no idea if this is something that has occurred in the past or not. I'm going to try not to google but I'm sure I'll fail. Going back in two weeks.
