A true test

CatsNTats posted 12/9/2019 20:54 PM

This past 2 months has really put me to the test.

After WH death less than 2 months ago I thought I was going to fail a course - or two. But I ended one with damn near an A - 89.49% and aced his last 3 exams including todays final.

Unfortunately, being the dumb ass that I am - I changed 2 right answers to wrong ones. So I ended patho with a B instead of an A (I needed an 89.5%).

I also passed the proctored exam that can make or break you and I get to continue on in the program next semester. I fucking smashed those exams today. That proctored one was so hard - I thought for sure I wasn't going to make it. I feel like I'm in shock. I can't believe I have made it through this. I don't even know what to do with myself. I'm thinking about getting in bed and it isn't even 9 p.m. yet.

I'm so happy I passed. But also found myself crying - realizing that the person I was supposed to share these things with is gone - forever. I guess he had been gone for a long time before he took his life. Lost in his addiction. And his wayward way. Ugh. Why.

I was buried in my books and didn't even see like half of the posts on my last mojo post until tonight (I thought that post got pushed back some pages and didn't think anyone would see it still) - but I really appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers, mojo, positive vibes, everything! I needed it. Thanks SI Fam!!!

You are such a freaking rockstar!! And I get the feeling when you want to share but hes gone. 🙁 but I hope you really realize how amazing you are. Congratulations!

You have had such a difficult time! To be able to keep your head in the game and do what you had to do with your courses is amazing! I am so proud of you!!!!!

But also found myself crying - realizing that the person I was supposed to share these things with is gone - forever
If it helps, talk to him. When my BF passed away unexpectedly, I said many things to him and it did help me.

Do what you have to do to get through GF!

Your book has many chapters left so just keep on your path! The best is yet to come!!!

You rocked it like I knew you would.

Every proctored test is getting you ready for the NCLEX. You can stand tall in knowing that you are awesome in doing so well. You are amazing!!!!

Now take some time to get some real rest, and recover, because the new semester is right around the corner.

Also allow yourself some time to grieve as well.

((((And Strength))))

You are amazing, Cats. There is nothing you can't do.

Oh man - this is just fabulous news CatsN!

I knew you would do what needed to be done. Now, let's make the holiday season one of rest, rejuvenation, self-care, and celebrating your accomplishments. Sometimes it's perfectly fitting to say something like, "I've worked my ass off and been through so much - now my job is to take a breather and heal and say no to anything that doesn't support that."

(I'm quite certain it wasn't my dance that aided you, but it was fun to knock out a jig for an absolutely deserving new beginning journey moment).

Thank you ALL! It helps having people believe in me. I think I slept 12 hours last night.

Every proctored test is getting you ready for the NCLEX.

Wouldn't it be nice if they explained that to us?!?

My score did reflect that I would have a 92% chance of passing the NCLEX. Of course I have a ways to go, but that was a bit of a confidence booster. I could not believe some of those questions...

"You have an older adult client. What's your priority?"

Where's the rest of it?!? What's wrong with them? Lol. Holy smokes.

You are an amazing, strong woman.

Thanks Barcher. I am really trying. I don't feel so much like it after tonight.

When you look up mental toughness in the dictionary, you'll see your picture there! You rock!

tushnurse posted 12/11/2019 12:22 PM

"You have an older adult client. What's your priority?"

Choose the most correct answer...

I can't tell you how much I hate that phrase.

CatsNTats posted 12/11/2019 13:37 PM

Right Tushnurse! I was like, what is this? I don't even remember what the choices were, but without any info on assessment of the client - you're just supposed to go off the fact that they're old? Being old doesn't mean something is wrong with you. I hated that question.
