There are a few new features that were built into SI.Net including a section at the bottom of your profile that displays who's been online in the last 5 minutes and image support in private messages. There are a couple of tools that you may encounter while browsing that are temporarily in place for testing. smile

Hi MH... sorry, this is the only way I know how to get your ear.

Anyway, I wanted to offer help with testing, if you're interested. I'm in QA for a software developer; this is what I do for a living. If you want some (free) help, let me know!

Hey BR, I can see who has been on when I'm on a .net profile page. It's in a pink box.

Any chance for dark mode?

I wish I had thought of that before design. All skin options have a white background and contrasting foreground. Switching the background to a dark color would require a lot more changes to many other elements in the foreground.

An image library has been added for premium members. You can now upload images/photos into your library from your devices. Look for the image library link in your profile.

testing image feature

when I click preview - the image appears over the text box and covers the preview button. This text is beyond the box and over the words of the thread. I don't know if this is image related only since I haven't tried the preview feature on .net before now.

The Members Only feature has been added to the latest .Net version. Platinum members will now see a checkbox that will allow you to set any single topic to members only. There is now also new skin options for "The Dark Side."

I like the dark skins!

Is the checkbox in the form where you post a new topic? I mean, I see it at the end of threads but was wondering how they get flagged. Is it there and only the author has permission?

The members only checkbox is currently only displayed after the thread already exists. I will add it to the form so it is available when starting a topic.

I usually never log out. So will it look as if I do nothing but read and post on SI all day and night? Honestly, while I check everyday, I'm not here every time it shows I'm online. It's just too easy to stay logged in.

Even if you remain logged in on SI, 5 minutes after your activity stops you will no longer show up on the list. When you have activity here, like loading a thread or posting, the system updates your last activity date/time in the database. The list of active users are those that have had activity in the last 5 minutes.

Hi MH,

I noticed that I had to log in to get to Stupid Picture Friday this week. Is that related to the changes you've mentioned?

I hope SPF will return to available-without-login status, because when I joined in '08, I still had tweens in the house. I spun a story involving SPF to cover for times that they might come out and see me on SI (they did not, nor do they, know about the infidelity). Just a "FWIW" ~

That was not intended. I will investigate to determine what may be causing this.
