I need some good, mid-range priced restaurant suggestions in the entertainment/financial district that can accommodate a large party (10). I can find good places to go, but so far I'm 0-3 in finding one that sit more than 8 people.

30 years ago I could have given you a dozen suggestions, easily. Born downtown, spent time in High Park area, but haven't lived there since 86. I do visit a lot, but not so much to restaurants.
I do remember Ruths Chris. Pricey steak house. Everything a la carte. But delicious. Don't know if they have table for 10.
If stuck, call the restaurant columnist for the Star or Globe, they probably know a lot more than most people.

I am part of a group of more than 10 that regularly get together in Toronto restaurants. However, maybe we're doing places that are a bit higher than mid-range-- $60+ per person plus drinks, tax & tip--and they are more accommodating??? What's your definition of mid-range? I might be able to suggest some places.

I'm thinking $35 for entree, plus appetizer for maybe $50/per person plus drinks, tax, tip.

Patria on King St. West has a separate room (open to the rest of the restaurant) with a single table upstairs, that seats up to 12, more I guess if you scooch in. I think for that many people you may be able to do a fixed menu. It's $55/person plus tax and tip (which is added automatically) and is a HUGE amount of food. The food is traditional Spanish and the prix fixe includes tapas, a mid course, a main course and dessert.

The Yonge (pronounced "Young") Street and Esplanade locations of The Keg are close enough to the entertainment district. I don't know what they say about large groups, though. They must have some on occasion!

I've also seen larger groups at the Elephant & Castle at
212 King Street West (not far from The Princess of Wales Theatre and across the street from Roy Thomson Hall), but on the occasions I've eaten there, the food has run the gamut from good to almost inedible, so I wouldn't recommend. Posting this only so you don't choose to go there and get taken!

Avoid Houston. It's supposed to be BIG Texas food. Ulp.. No. And the one I went in had a big confederate flag on the wall. I asked to speak to the manager and told him how offensive that was not just to me as a Texan but to most Americans. He didn't get it. He thought that flag was the Lone star flag. I was like "dude, there are a bunch of damn stars on that one!. Idiot."

He didn't get it. He thought that flag was the Lone star flag. I was like "dude, there are a bunch of damn stars on that one!. Idiot."
You'll have to forgive him, the education system got kinda touchy feely a few years back and the vocabulary has been reduced (some say by 50% since the 50's). He probably figured it was called the "loan star" flag after borrowing stars from a few other states.
