Golden Boa - cool snake. Big one too. Harmless (unless you're a mouse).
From the door hardware and light switch I'd say this is in Europe somewhere (in case you're worried, LOL).

Probably wise...it's doubtful you have those type of door handles so you shouldn't have to worry about a giant boa opening your door . Unless of course, you DO have those door handles...
