...didn't make it.
Got home from work Friday and found him in the driveway. Took him the vet clinic as fast as I could. They told me they call squirrels this young "little pinkies". When I called back to check they told me there was nothing they could do for him.

Awwww. So sorry he didn't make it.
I have raised "fuzzy" rats by hand. They are just past the pinkie stage. Eyes and ears still closed though.

(((little pinkie)))
That was really wonderful and caring of you to bring the little one to the vet. I'm so sorry.

Thanks. I just couldn't leave him there. I wasn't surprised he didn't make it since he apparently fell out of a tree, but I was hoping the vet would be able to help.

I'm so sorry pinkie didn't make it.
I have a very special place in my heart for squirrels.
I have had two. The first was a grey squirrel who was orphaned during Tropical Storm Fay. He was older than a pinkie but still a a baby. We called him Stormy.
Later, I adopted a southern flying squirrel. They really are amazing creatures.
Thank you for your efforts to save pinkie. What a sweet little babe.
