Positive for Herpes Simplex 1! From what I'm reading is cold sores but I have never had a cold sore in my life and I've heard this can be transmitted through oral sex?!

Hi. Their ones and twos are almost outdated nonsense, I think. I was dx'd with herpes one of the genitalia. I had no antibodies indicating long term exposure to it and nothing for two. It cost me $900.00 for the info. I do not know why I had to have it, when I already knew from prior testing that I was clear...but I bought it. I am sorry you tested positive. No matter where your sores eventually appear, it is just wrong. Prayers to you. nmd

yes I believe that is ONLY the cold sore virus. herpes simplex 2 is the genital type. L lysine and VSC herbs will help keep away any oral mouth cold sores.
my ex had these without his knowledge and i would get cold sores immediately. I was so pissed
Im 45. 1st H I left in 2001 after 3 kids. narcassist.
2nd exH had MANY affairs.FALSE R. cheats again. D 5/09. 2 kids. I got 100% custody. ex hasnt seen kids in 6 yrs.
2014 to now: dated highschool sweetheart. He cheated w 23 yr old & left.

He is freaking out! I know I didn't have this before because they tested me for everything when I had my daughter! I am going Monday to get tested and get my daughter tested. I've read it can be transmitted from kissing and sharing drinks and your infants get it easier!!!

Genital herpes can be caused by either HSV1 or HSV2. The variable here is not the strain of the virus; it's the type of contact WH had with an infected OW.
Oral or genital contact with either HSV1 or HSV2 can result in infection. "Oral" herpes can most assuredly manifest as genital herpes--and vice versa. It just depends on the behavior of those infected and their partners.

I'm very sorry you've been affected like this. It's bad enough without a permanent infectious reminder.

I'm not sure if this helps but transmitted herpes 1 to my WH via a cold sore (it had not erupted yet but it is still possible to transmit). I have had cold sores on my lip since childhood and a few days after mine erupted so did one on my WH- and not on his lip :/
That was 15 yrs ago and while I have had many cold sores since, my husband has not had anything.
Again, it sucks and once you have the virus in your system you have it but it has not caused any issues in our situation.
I'm sorry though, getting it via an affair is truly awful.

This mother fucker had the nerve to say it's just the cold sores everyone has!! Are you kidding me?! I didn't fucking have it before this! I'm done I want to file Monday! Who would stay after this?!
