JM has worked for the same company (newspaper) essentially since 1997. He had a break from 2003 to about 2005 due to several surgeries.
He works night shift and has for all of these years. (Which sucks!!!) It took until the end of 2008 to have his weekends actually on Friday and Saturday night.
Anyway, his boss is being promoted and he was asked if he planned to apply for the production director job. It would be daytime hours and a nice pay increase. But most importantly, MUCH less physically demanding and no weekends.
We submitted his resume tonight. This would be SO good for us. I'd appreciate your prayers, thoughts, etc.

My Daddy worked for the paper, and he always had oddball shifts. Worked evenings for many many years, and finally when I was in high school was promoted to a boss job, M-F no weekends, no holidays.
When he retired he had several months worth of vacation a year.
